Absolute disgrace of an establishment. I have been with Great Southern Bank for over 20 years but after visiting here twice after the Figtree branch has closed I have been disappointed with the level of service. On both occasions I have waited 30 mins just for someone to service me in full knowledge of what I needed to do and that the task would take a total of 2 minutes.
Not once on both occasions did someone come over and apologise for the inconvenience or why it was taking so long. They seem to enjoy the power trip they have over customers and making them wait. I have also witnessed them be rude to elderly customers who have travelled further than Wollongong to do their banking.
If you are the only establishment in the Illawarra get some decent staff who actually want to help and live by your brand "It’s about supporting our customers and the community. Listening and being transparent, as we think banks should be".

I made 5 calls and waited in cues plus was hung up on 3 times (apparently the phone kept dropping out I was told) and each time I was told something different. Being a pensioner and nearly $300 out of pocket stings especially when you’ve been a loyal customer for nearly 4 decades. The service has been disgusting since it was announced GSB would be becoming an online bank. As tomorrow is a bank holiday in NSW I will be dealing with phones tomorrow again. Read moreI phoned nearly 2 weeks ago about restructuring our home loan. I was to get a call back that afternoon or the following day which didn't happen. I followed up a week later and was told Felicity would call me back after she finished with some clients. That was 3 days ago now. This isn't the first time I've had below average service,a few years back it took 3 months to set up a loan for a deposit on an investment property .
