TLDR; Best starters are Onion bhajis, samosas, the vegetarian platter and the non-vegetarian platter. Best Vegetarian mains chana masala, dal makhni, saag, and aloo gobhi. Non-veg mains: Thali which contains butter chicken (obviously), chicken tikka lababdaar, lamb rogan josh alongside naan, rice and gulab jamun (dessert). Or you could just order them separately for larger portions if preferred.
My husband and I have been frequent diners at Embers for the last 3 years. Any time we come down the south coast from Sydney, Embers is a must for lunch or dinner or sometimes both.
The food is absolutely divine and staff is accommodating with helping me choose the best vegetarian options. This place has an extensive list of starters, mains and desserts which are delicious as well as authentic.
My personal favourites are Onion bhajis, samosas, the vegetarian platter and the non-vegetarian platter. For vegetarian mains chana masala, dal makhni, saag, and aloo gobhi steal the show. For non-veg options my husband’s favourites are the non-veg Thali which contains butter chicken (obviously), chicken tikka lababdaar, lamb rogan josh alongside naan, rice and gulab jamun (dessert).
Their lychee cocktail is unforgettable but if that’s not your thing then ask the staff and they’d happily recommend a drink based on your personal preferences.
Enjoy your visit, I’m you won’t be...
Read moreDecided to try out the restaurant because I had seen it advertised and was in the mood for indian food. I was pleasantly surprised at the experience I had there. It wasn't quite as fancy as some other places I have been but the view outside is amazing. The strongest point of the restaurant was its food. It has been a long time since I tasted Indian food in Australia that was so close to being authentic as the food here was. I ordered the dahi pani-puri as a starter and loved it. The chilli chicken was served on a sizzler platter and was a great specimen of indo-chinese chilli chicken I remember having back home. Will definitely recommend those two dishes. Tried the chicken lababdar and the vindaloo. The former was a bit sweet but the chicken was tender, well-spiced and well cooked. The chicken vindaloo was an amazingly rich curry without being too heavy, with just the right amount of spice. The staff was eager to help and courteous. The prices were just right. I would recommend this place for some good...
Read moreI remember very well, this is my fourth visit to this restaurant. First three times food was amazing and i even praised chef for it. And today i went there for dinner and the food was awful, not even edible. I feel chef was not in a mood to serve food after 8:00PM. Chicken tikka that I ordered wasn't even marinated properly. Chicken pieces were raw. They could have just told me that they were closing, i would have walked away happily. Since i had ordered this before i knew the quality so i respectfully told the waiter to take it away. The Manager or chef didn’t even have etiquettes to say sorry and they clearly refused to offer another dish or replace and charged me for it instead. The waitstaff at the counter was very blunt while speaking to me and said that they have no rule of refund or replacing the ordered food. Never ever going back there. I didn’t feel bad about wasting 12$ but felt bad the way I was treated, which wasn't expected from them. Clearly this is not "Modern Indian...
