Haigh's Chocolates Hawthorn — Local services in Melbourne

The staff were helpful and patient. I was feeling a bit strange in the atmosphere of open doors and women around me handling almost every product they were looking at making crackling sounds. Some background music would be nice to cut out the noisy handlers - it misses out on 5 star due to this and the layout is a bit bare. I received a generous sample, so that was a pleasant surprise. I chose Panforte and a few loose chocolates to try. The flavours are fantastic. I will update once I've tried everything. The price of my favourite product has gone up about $2 in a year, but that is the increase in cocoa market prices due to decrease in productive trees (and probably larger commercial cocoa buyers depleting them). Haigh's is by far the best chocolate you can buy in Australia. Some prefer Cadbury's, Darrell Leas, Whittakers, Nestle, or Lindt, and if you don't mind palm oils, cheaper ingredients, unnatural flavours, etc, go for it. Koko Black is similar in terms of being more expensive pricing, but I don't like the taste quite as much. There is another chocolate maker in Melbourne based in Tullamarine which had a much more affordable Easter range. In my opinion you can't beat the higher quality of Haigh's. It is worth the experience, although now I feel we are going back to past times when quality chocolate was a luxury not many people...

I just went down to the Glenferrie Rd Haigh's Chocolates and had the most polite and knowledgable girl serve me. She talked me through all the chocolate that I asked her about and she gave me a complimentary taste. I was so impressed with how much she knew about all the chocolates and the history of the company. She was so helpful when I wanted recommendations about what to purchase and was not pushing me to purchase anything at all which was also really nice seeing as though a lot of shop keepers push customers to buy things. Tonight I was running short for time and arrived at the store at 7:45pm (they close at 8pm) the wonderful team were extremely helpful. There was a young woman working who was extremely patient, calm and not pushy. She was amazing! She packed my Easter treats for my family so wonderfully. With her kindness and patience, as one lady working looked unimpressed and wanted to go home, whilst the other Asian lady was helpful too. I left the store before 8pm. I was only going in for a few small Easter eggs, and walked out with over $200 worth. Please pass on my thank you! Both ladies were great and made my experience even more...
