Partystar — Local services in Melbourne

I booked the venue for my engagement party through Partystar, and couldn't recommend the site more.

The best part is being able to compare venues and prices, all from the one site - the prices quoted are backed by the website's guarantee, and you're also covered for up to $1000 in the event of the venue cancelling your booking, which is reassuring.

I'd been trawling multiple websites and getting frustrated by the lack of clear information on official venue pages, and having to send multiple enquiries, in some cases not hearing back at all, or having my enquiry answered with another question,

It was a great bonus to find a site that included: Clear prices, whether those costs included venue hire or just minimum bar tab, if there was wheelchair access (just worried about steps with elderly guests with walking stick), if we could self cater, if we could supply our own music or put up decorations..

This made it easy to compare venues. I particularly loved the large high-res pictures of the venue interior, as few official venue websites had photos of their function areas.

It's like the TripAdvisor or UrbanSpoon of venue hire :)

So far so good. It took the venue more than the 4 days stipulated for them to respond to my request. I had to nudge Partystar after 7 days, before I heard from them. But Partystar kept their promise, as soon as they were contacted I received a response straight away. They still have not confirmed what I asked for, but they are quick to get a deposit from me. Deposit was paid within the day, but venue is still delayed with my requests of drinks and menu list. Should be 3.5, but Partystar is not to blame. Maybe they need a review on some of their venues before placing on their site. Still looking forward to the...

After having a bad experience with a particualr Venue and only a week till the party date, I jumped onto Partystar late one night and had a new venue booked by the morning! Partystar had such a wide variety of venues and the customer reviews on their website helped decision making easy. Although after hours, I was impressed at how quickly the venues I contacted on Partystar responded, amazing service and I would never have found the venue I went with without Partystar!
