Visited pathwest to get my blood test done today around 2pm and encountered the older lady at the reception. So this is feedback about specifically her and her customer facing role at the place.
While waiting in the queue, I observed she was rushing everyone in the queue ..there were only 3 to 4 people in the queue, and when it was my turn I noticed her peculiar way of interacting with people.
Now she isn't overtly rude or mean, but she does fall short of what's acceptable normal attitude from a customer service person.
The whole interaction left me feeling like I'm inconveniencing her by being there, she's short and rushes a lot as if she is trying to be done with you in the shortest amount of time and we end up feeling very quite enraged at this aburd way of dealing with people.. as opposed to someone who treats others with respect, patience, and dignity.. she takes these 3 qualities and does the exact opposite.
Now, I'm not implying she is rude or bad at her job. I'm sure she's a superstar at the technical aspects, but as for her customer service skills.. its a 0/10 for me. She does need to work on her people skills.. and as long as she doesn't improve on her people skills, she shouldn't be allowed to interact with customers.. especially in an emotionally charged hospital setting.
The logic is that you wouldn't employ a heart surgeon who doesn't know how to operate on the human heart, and so you shouldn't employ a receptionist who lacks the basic human skills to interact with people...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVisited last week with my son and partner, who is in a wheelchair. We waited over 20 minutes to be called. Once we entered the room the phlebotomist ask 'is it for him or the kid' pointing at both my partner and son. I informed her the pathology request was for my son and asked if she could be discreet as he doesn't like needles. She proceeded to ask questions directly to him and instructed me to sit on the chair with him. At this point he was red in the face absolutely freaking out. She then realised we need to move to the children's room. When we transferred there she told the other phlebotomist 'you're doing it. Not me' he then instructed me to hold my son down and demonstrated how to hold him still, prior to having any equipment ready. At this point he was distraught and screaming. The bloods took over 5 mins to draw and he is now left with a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI just wanted to share my Mumās experience at Pathwest today in Murdoch. She is terminally ill, she had travelled quite far for an appointment this morning and she was advised to use Pathwest at Fiona Stanley when she was in for her next appointment to make things easier on herself. She wanted to make sure her results would be sent to a different hospital where she is receiving treatment also. The lady behind the desk was passive aggressive in her response and my mum just left, she has never experienced this at any other Pathwest she has visited, she was just clarifying that her results would be sent to the other hospital so to be spoken to like she was today she certainly wonāt be returning to your Pathwest.
From the other review I have read from 4 months ago this could be the same lady working at...
