IF I COULD GIVE šŸ’Æāļøā€™s, I WOULD šŸ‘šŸ¤© ā€NAROOMA CHARTERSā€ WHALE WATCHING CRUISES GUARANTEE 100% WHALE SIGHTINGS ON EVERY CRUISEā€¼ļø 🐬🌊 WE ENJOYED A WHALE TAIL SPLASHING EXTRAVAGANZA 🌊🐬 On our way out from Narooma Wharf for our whale watching cruise & a tour of ā€˜Barunguba’ (aboriginal name) Montague Island (9km away), we saw a pod of dolphins swimming alongside the boat just 15 minutes into the cruise. 5 minutes later we spotted our first whale jumping out of the water, so we got a bit closer & they turned the boat off. We saw 4 whales, they swam right to us - magestically arching their backs up out of the water, popping their heads up to spout & get a breath of air, & wildly splashing their huge tails around. 3 of which swam within metres of the boat & under the boat to the other side. We were blessed with this magical experience for 20 minutes straight! It was incredible, so much more than I expected! The cruise started at 8am & finished at 1.30pm; also including a 2.5 hour guided tour & commentary of historic Montague Island & the lighthouse that was built from hand carved stone in 1881. On approaching the island we were greeted by multiple fur seals - some sunning themselves on the rocks & others splashing around & playing in the water. Some people were snorkeling with the seals! There are multiple species of seabirds that visit the island to nest & breed. On the afternoon cruise you can see the ā€˜Penguin March’. The cruise was only $140 & well worth every cent! The staff were very friendly & helpful, the Captain gave some great & interesting commentary about the whales, other sea life & information about the area. To be honest I’d hoped to maybe see a whale. I expected to maybe see a tail splash in the far distance or maybe a whale spout some water - BUT I WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZED & TOTALLY MESMERISED BY 4 WHALES SWIMMING & SPLASHING, SPOUTING & ROLLING AROUND WITHIN A FEW METERS OF THE BOAT FOR OVER 20 MINUTESā€¼ļø(See 4 x 30 second video clip below) 🤩 I highly recommend this company for a whale watching tour, I’d have to say that this was my most memorable cruise & holiday I’ve ever been on, & I’ll definitely be returning next whale watching season šŸ‘šŸ¤© THANK YOU FOR THE BEST DAY EVERā€¼ļø Lisa & Joel Pratley. Excellent experience and would definitely recommended for anyone to try that’s staying in or around Narooma. The island includes a wonderful tour by one of the national park employees all who have an extremely in depth knowledge of the island. We didn’t see any penguins on the island tour but the island was quite stunning in the warm weather. After the island tour we got to go snorkelling off the boat. The water was calm and there was many seals we were able to get right up to and swim with. There was also plenty of underwater life to dive down and look at. The staff on the boat were nice although they did make one o our group members go home for not having shoes or a shirt. They did provide muffins for us which was a nice unexpected bonus. Overall a great experience and something anyone would enjoy.

We got up at 4:30am, and drove 3 hours south (just for a dive with them) to be told that the dive had been canceled but they forgot to call or email us to let us know in advance. :)

EDIT (response to Narooma Charters)

You are upset about this review? As per email from Nick on the 19th July at 3:17pm:

ā€œHi Kendall Sorry I had you in as an Island tour I do have space on the Sunday morning if you would like thats a morning departing @9am. Thank You Nickā€

I then called Nick at 3:17pm on the 19th July who then confirmed my place on the 9am seal snorkel charter. I triple confirmed with Nick that this will be going ahead and his last words were ā€œsee you guys 8:30am on Sunday!ā€. I actually also called NPWS to double check this closure does not affect the surrounding waters to which the operator confirmed. If you had checked your email records before responding, you would know all of this.

We had absolutely NO email or phone call communication from that 19th July phone call to when we arrived after a 3 hours drive to the dive shop. This was for my partner’s birthday and we had to turn straight around and then drive 3 hours back.

I then called the after hours number. A man named Norm picked up and said that he would take blame for this. This was for my partner’s birthday and we had to turn straight around and then drive 3 hours back.

I will not sit back and be told by such an unorganised company that I am slandering. Check your email and phone records before you start accusing a paying customer of making up false statements because you refuse to take ownership.

Your miscommunication between staff and lack of communication with us had ruined mine and my partner’s first day on holidays. Take responsibility like a decent business would, apologise...

Very safe trip! We went on a tour to see fairy penguins on Montague island we were a family of four with a 4yr old who isn’t great swimmer & a very sea sick nervous grandma! The operators were amazing they catered for all of those things. We were due to go on the tour the night before & it got cancelled so they re scheduled us. The Narooma bar is famously one of the most dangerous stretches of water on the south coast so to have such experienced operators say they didn’t want to put us at risk us was great. I come from fishing family so I understand dangers involved. I read a lot of trip advisor posts saying people upset about tours being cancelled... it’s Mother Nature when you are out at sea anything can happen it’s a large boat but that doesn’t keep you safe. What keeps you safe is the captain of the vessel. This guy cancelled the first night I felt he put our safety before profits that professionalism impressed my family. My family was watching the sea that afternoon before I had chance to ring them & voice my concerns they had called us pulled the pin. They lost money cancelling the trip but they put safety first that’s who I want driving the boat some one who puts people over profits! Ps tour was amazing couldn’t fault it 4 yr old had the time of his life.. grandma well she ended up sea sick but we gave her something & she...
