Ocean Palace Licensed Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Narooma

Ordered takeaway over the phone, a couple of entrees, mains and rice. Went to pickup and was told it was $140. I questioned the girl behind the counter and she said yeah thats normal it adds up. Reluctantly i paid. Went home and had dinner but it wasnt right. I calculated my order and it came to $69. I rang up and spoke to the girl again nothing but rude and unhelpful. Spoke over me and refused to let me finish my sentence. Finally got her to re calculate and she then agreed it was wrong and i was over charged and blamed the kitchen. I said what are you going to do about it and she didnt know. She asked the bosses whilst i was still on the phone and she told them that she "hit the wrong button" and over charged me!!!! I was told i would have to come back to have money reimbursed. Went back and was handed $70 cash with sorry. My warning to everyone including the elderly locals who my nana is and attends ona weekly basis watch your bill make sure you make your own calculations before paying and make sure its correct because something is not rightwith this venue. I will be telling my nana and getting her to pass it onto her friends as well. Beware...

Ok it may not be gourmet dining but it was a great dinner folks. We were greeted by a friendly lady and shown to a table with menus and wine list. A good variety of wines on offer - a Wild Oats Sauv Blac Semillon was a nice choice. Tasty spring rolls with a sweet chilli sauce for entree. I ordered the pork with plum sauce and my wife ordered the Sichuan Beef - a serve of special fried rice with shrimp and chicken rounded out the order. Both mains were tasty. Generous size serves meant we couldn’t fit in the fried ice cream. Good to see a local business doing a good trade in dine in and take away meals. Happy to recommend...

A very quiet Monday night, arrived after a 30 min wait. 4 tables were occupied in the restaurant whilst one person in front was waiting for take away. Was told it was busy and to wait another 30 minutes. Man before us had been waiting an hour also. Food finally arrived and travelled home to realise that they hadn't put one of the dishes in our bag. Returned to the restaurant to find they hadn't placed the dish on the order, charged us, and received a soggy luke warm honey chicken. Very average food and service. Don't waste your time and money. Good Chinese food should take no more than 20...
