Update 2021: visited again in mid-2021, sounds like a complicated situation but they have lost the capacity to sell local wines which is a huge shame. Still have lovely staff, nice souvenirs and clean loos.

Situated on the edge of town Rutherglen Visitor Centre is worth the stop. The staff offer friendly and helpful advice in addition to bike hire and souvenirs. Visited today and my wife was pleasantly surprised by the quality gifts available to purchase. More than an information centre but a place to visit when in Rutherglen.
