For coffee in Subiaco there isn't a bigger, older or better place than Brew Ha. With their courtyard, the front room and the large back room with the 3 big Australian newspapers available in quantity (try finding that anywhere else) I don't like being invited elsewhere. It happens but I can't wait to get back to the ambience and the friendliness of Brew Ha. And the superior coffee!! Today the space where they once roasted the coffee beans has been replaced with a state of the art kitchen. For anyone looking for breakfast in a coffee shop I suggest they check the menu and the prices and the food coming out of the kitchen. It's very good and the chef makes the occasional special with some added spices. Not for everyone but it is delicious. And to those who complain about no table service, imagine trying to find someone among the 200 or so who are often seated inside and out. They would need more staff and they still wouldn't cope. And lastly, my eternal gratitude to the staff, all young people who have to work very hard at times but they never lose their patience. After serving hundreds of customers every day with food and coffee (and not all customers are angels) they are still smiling, still happy. I remember being told the youth of today aren't as good as previous generations but this lot are the epitome of professionalism. Wifi decent for work: there is a 1 GB limit per person per device, but disconnects time-to-time (maybe on purpose).
Food: limited selection, sweet snacks are okay-ish, but seem quite alike to me.
Toilets: clean, but outside the building and accessible via a staircase. A potential issue for people with reduced mobility.
Crowd: pleasant and mixed, from young people to families with kids to...
Read moreMy wife and I dined here for some brunch and ordered the Shakshuka and the smashed Avo. My wife didn't read the menu properly and her meal had olive dust on it (she really dislikes olives). After speaking to one of the staff she took the mean back and the chef remade it without the olive dust. The lady who served us was extremely polite and didn't charge us anything extra. The service at this cafe was outstanding. The fact they offered to do this without any extra charge from our mistake was so lovely. The food aswell.. oh my gosh!!! The best Shakshuka I have ever eaten!!!!! My wife LOVED the smash avo (minus the olive dust) aha! We will DEFINITELY be coming...
