Rude - Unprofessional - Terrified acting- Wish to review 0 star.
My friend already warned me that this shopโs very rude sometimes as she got into bad situation once because they Did Not Welcome baby pram in and she was a single mom.. What could she do?! I took it as a warning but it was okay and I was very happy shopping with them since they was in the old location until today. I bought 2 snack bags, 2 packages pasta sauce and 1 candy bar from different Korean store on Pitt street and decided to pop in to this shop on Liverpool street if they had the stock I wanted. It was my fault for quick browsing and didnโt notice to not sign in the QR code. A few second after, the old man in the picture pulled me over and talked in Korean and touched my shopping bag. Saying something like I was a thief or something and pointed to my bag. I talked to him โWhat was the matter?!โ But he kept touching and pointing to my bag? and spoke Korean? Then, he may realise that I wasnโt a thief and asked me to sign in. If he meant asked me to sign in at first and didnโt know English then why did not he remind me to sign in with points to the QR code? Why did he checked and touched my bag for? So ashamed!
I was so upset and left the store with a picture of him.
Some of you may experience nice things like what I had before because we have luck to come to right time but need to watch out for those terrible moments of this store and this man could bring your moods of the day down like me now.. So bad!
After the incident, a lady was browsing in the shop went out to check in.. and a lady with a baby pram was waiting for someone in the shop...
ย ย ย Read moreIt is mandatory to get a card for 65 dollars to get in. You wait in a long line for this. You start shopping by swiping your card. This card is useless for anything else. When we were leaving the alcohol section, the employee started to pull our shopping cart without saying anything. This was our first time at this market. We didn't understand what was going on. He just treated us like we were thieves without communicating. When we asked what was going on, he said you had to pay now. It was awful that he did this by pulling our cart. The lack of communication in such a big market is bad. The cashiers are very tense and nervous. You wait in a separate line to return the card and get the money at the exit. When you leave the market, you wait in a separate line to have the receipt and the products checked. This is a market with disorganized, sullen employees who treat you like a thief throughout your shopping. I will never go there again. The prices are not much different than...
ย ย ย Read moreExtremely disappointing experience. I walked into this store as a regular customer and was immediately asked by the owner, โAre you Korean?โ When I answered, โNo,โ he pushed me out of the store without any further explanation or apology.
This was not a misunderstanding โ it was blatant racial discrimination. Australia is a multicultural society where everyone should have equal access to public services, regardless of their background or language.
A store that serves the public should treat all customers with respect. Turning someone away based solely on their ethnicity is unacceptable and deeply hurtful.
I hope this business reflects on its discriminatory behavior and learns to treat everyone equally. If you are not Korean, I would strongly recommend reconsidering before visiting.
I have submitted a formal complaint to NSW Fair Trading and the Australian Human Rights Commission regarding this incident, as this kind of exclusion has no place in a...
