Read moreAfter they opened the Barangaroo tunnels, straight from the station we can practically walk to Barangaroo under cover, safe from rain and weather. And that is not the full story, the upgrades themselves are architectural master piece. The only thing I would say is that the platforms are no longer wide enough to accommodate the peak hour crowd. The station has lots of shops just outside the gates, so good for some quick breakfast on the go. Incredibly badly managed, eg during afternoon rush hour, when 95% of foot traffic is into the station, at most 30% of turnstiles open inward, 70% outward, resulting in long, unnecessary queues to get into the station.
Add in the 19th century irritation of platform conductors blowing whistles at every commuter they see (surely a health and safety issue - it certainly irritates my ears) and you get the idea that station management are going out of their way to annoy...
