We were at the pub crawl tonight and in the last club the security guards refused to let my brother in because of “dress code” (pointing to his face, because he has a darker skin color) didn’t fit. He was wearing what everybody else was wearing. When we said it was racism they didn’t even denied it. The guides from the pub crawl didn’t even help with anything. I’ve been to many pub crawls in Europe and this was by far the most bizarre I’ve ever been too. How do they take us to place where people can’t get it? I want the refund and I’ll take legal actions.
Edit: the guy responsible for the Pub Crawl’s WhatsApp responded to my messages saying that the guide and the guard said that my brother was a bit “tipsy” and never had been a case of racism in 7 years. He was nice and helpful and offered us to the the crawl again for free. However, after seeing others reviews from that club “O-Club” I saw that many people have been through similar situations in that club so I very much doubt it that they were not aware that this kind of situation happens there. My brother was not as nearly drunk as the great majority of the group, example: many people left the previous bars (guides included) with the glasses (aka stole the glasses) and just left it on the streets when they finished their drinks. Also the guides situation was very bizarre, when we got there we couldn’t find them for a few minutes because they didn’t seem concerned at all about gathering the people the paid for the crawl. There was a girl who seemed more concerned about having fun with her friends (who I don’t even know if they were guides too). I wouldn’t recommend this pub crawl to anybody. My recommendation to the organizer is that if he was really unaware about these situations he should review the partners clubs and the guides who seemed very unprofessional comparing to the other pub crawls...
Read moreWe went on a pub crawl in Vienna yesterday, and it was far from what we expected. First, we were never informed that we had to pay in cash, even though we made the booking online. This was frustrating and inconvenient.
The guide, Jasmine, was hardly involved. She spent most of her time with her friend and did nothing to engage or energize the group. As for the bars, the event was advertised as visiting three bars, but we only went to two, plus a nightclub that was far from the others. This felt misleading and disappointing.
There was also a lack of planned activities, even though the ads promised games and fun drinking challenges. Jasmine didn’t organize any games, so my group had to come up with our own ideas to get the group going. We ended up playing beer pong, but as expected, there were no rewards or extra drinks for the winners. We were only given two beers and a free shot, which was pretty underwhelming.
To top it all off, when we reached the metro station, Jasmine told us to take the train without a ticket, despite us informing her that we didn’t have one. She shrugged it off, saying it didn’t matter. Once we arrived at the nightclub, which was advertised as having an entry fee of €12, we discovered that entry was actually free. After entering, we went to the bathroom, and to our surprise, Jasmine disappeared without saying a word. We were a small group of seven people, not a massive crowd, so it was especially disappointing that Jasmine didn’t even bother to say goodbye. It felt like a complete lack of respect.
This was supposed to be a special night for us, as it was our first day in Vienna, and we were excited to experience the nightlife. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a huge letdown. We really hope this kind of experience doesn’t happen again, and we would like to see some compensation for the bad...
Read moreIt was a pub crawl but the bare minimum for a pub crawl. Never once did they ever bring us together for a group welcome or chat. We were left asking everyone if they were on the pub crawl. Really lacked that group mentality so it felt like we were randomly guided from one bar to another. You definitely need to group everyone together at least once and say hi.
The guides were not hospitable or welcoming, usually the hosts in these roles are friendly and fun but especially the guy yelling “keep moving keep moving” made me feel like I was a refugee being pushed across the border.
The bars were honestly nothing amazing, would’ve been nice to see one memorable bar but they were both dive bars. The first one was an underground Irish pub with one guy working so we waited in line for 40 mins. The second one the drinks are less than 3 euros anyway but it was nice and busy. We got 2 drinks at the first place and 1 drink at the second so you can do the maths on the ROI. The club is also underground but way too packed and I think it was free entry anyway.
All in all it was nice to have something to do on a night out but I couldn’t recommend...
