The Vermählungsbrunnen (Marriage Fountain) is a beautiful Baroque fountain located in Vienna’s Stadtpark, near the Wiener Konzerthaus. Completed in 1744, it was designed by the sculptor Georg Raphael Donner to celebrate the marriage of Emperor Francis I and Maria Theresa. The fountain is adorned with intricate sculptures and features a central allegorical figure of Hymen, the Greek god of marriage, surrounded by several other symbolic figures representing virtues like love and happiness.
The fountain’s elegant design and its historical significance make it a lovely stop for those exploring Stadtpark. It is an example of Vienna’s rich Baroque heritage and a reminder of the city’s royal history. The Vermählungsbrunnen adds charm to the park, offering visitors a peaceful and picturesque...

The fountain depicts the marriage of Mary to Joseph underneath a circular colonnade of four columns, with angels standing guard at each of the columns.
This fountain is worth a look as there are also several monuments, museums and other...
