KitchA - Sticks & Rolls — Restaurant in Vienna

We visited KitchA last Thursday, and ordered the following (meatless): for starters: SWEET POTATOE TEMPURA FRIES - Fried sweet potatoes with mayo sauce and A-LOT of garlic inside, great dish! CRISPY SPRINGROLL VEGGIE - medium, can be dropped.

For main dish: CHICKEN SWEET SOUR - like in Chinese fast-food restaurants, fried. Nothing special in this dish and we didn't finish it. GRILLED SALMON (added extra rice) - very tasty, recommended. GREEN POWER - Very special roll, wasn't cut good (can be seen at the photo) but the taste made up for it :-)

For desserts: DORAYAKI - Japanese pancakes filled with Nutella chocolate, waste of money and calories. FLAMED SESAME ICECREAM - The best part of dinner! the ice cream is flamed next to the table, and the waiter asks if you would like to record it (for Instagram etc.).

For drinks: KITCHA SPRITZ - bitter. LYCHEE SPRITZ - not sweet enough.

The general feeling of the meal was that all the dishes were taken from pre-purchased packages, and were not prepared in the restaurant. The food did not feel fresh and was not prepared at that moment, for example - the pancakes were really dry. The place is very nicely decorated and very clean, the service is a bit slow (the restaurant was very busy) even though we booked a table in advance. On my next visit to Vienna I will probably try...

Great sushi, poor everything else: Reserved a table for which we had to wait 10 minutes, while a couple that hadnt reserved got seated next to us while waiting for 5 min. Sure can happen, but to also serve them first was poor form, by the time we got our starter after 45 min they had finished theyre fourth course and were checking out. Plus point the japan roll was really delicious, that earned the star. Next up another 45 min wait for our ramen. Meanwhile my drink has been standing empty and alone for 30 minutes already as well. The ramen wasnt too good, the noodles were overcooked and soggy, the egg turned blue from overcooking and the meat wasnt even slices apart properly and still stuck together. The broth was flavorful but also already cooling down, not piping hot as it should be, maybe they just forgot it was standing in the kitchen for half an hour, who knows. Lastly both the mens and womens toilets were in poor condition, broken toilet, no soap and pilea of discarded tissues. If you come here, have some quick sushi and leave as...

I went several times in the past at this very nice place and I always had a good experience, even though sometimes we had to wait a bit before being seated at our table or sometimes the waiting time for dishes was long or the waiters were not the most polite. But this is normal and sometimes it can happen!

However yesterday eve was very different. the service was unbelievably bad, starting with the waiting time to get the previously reserved table, to the wrong information given to us about the possibility to order desserts till a certain time. And forgot orders, had to ask several times before getting anything right. With a different waiter every time and some of them extremely rude and unprofessionaI.. we even had some of the table German-speaking to get the orders right but even the desserts finally were wrong. I am usually a very chilled person and I overall recommend this place for the quality of the food but honestly the service I had is not worth me coming back, and definetly I will avoid to go there during...
