Lengthy review for Tourists: I have never really had a bad experience with super value. It's a good store with convenient locations and a good variety of products. It is my family's main grocery store. We always purchase our fruit, vegetables and other basic necessities here. Also, someone bags the groceries for you and will help take it to your car. It's always nice for the extra hand. Just remember to tip.
The only con I believe anyone visiting from countries that don't import most of their foods would have, are the prices. We import almost everything so our prices are higher. Milk, meat, cheese, eggs, bread, fruit, vegetables, cereal, crackers, snacks, spreads, ice cream etc.., things that many other countries farm and produce on their own making it a lot less cheaper in those countries.
So expect an increase in price from what you are used to paying for at home. Definitely, budget more money towards grocery than you expected.
Accessibility note: Almost all Super Value stores on the island are completely accessible by wheel chair. The main store, closest to Paradise Island where tourists venture, is the Mackey St. Super Value location. It’s car park is accessible. Also, the entire store front is a brown tiled ramp that allows for easy access. Enter or exit with ease. There is also handicap parking right next to the...
Read moreI just might become a common customer with such considerate influence! This food store is quite commodious, refreshing and posses varity of foods with affordable prices out there on the market. It opens and closes at convenient timing, owns cordial and constructive workers. Also worth the gas usage, depending on your location and proximity. I assure many that it's one of the best stores to shop around on the food market, along side West Bay st. of Nassau, New Providence. Incidentally if you travel by jitney(bus) service, would be recommended to take a #10 or #12. They even serve freshly served breakfast, or dinner, if you're out on the run for work. And the service is...
Read moreHave you ever been detained by security because you had a medical assistive device? How about being detained in the middle of the store, for 45 minutes! It was so ridiculous other shoppers we're telling the security guard to leave us alone, and that we would have been finished and gone in the amount of time they held us for. In the end the owner's sister was shopping and saw and called her brother. It was totally humiliating. We have reported the incident to the Social Services Disability Affairs office and they are investigating. They need to educate their employees on the Person's With Disabilities Act, and just use DECENT...
