Bay Street Marina — Attraction in New Providence

We were on a ship and anchored in Nassau right in front of the Bay Street Marina. This marina is obviously only friendly to people who have a big wallet. In order to be able to come ashore you have to take the dinghy to the marina to the dinghy jetty. This is a wobbly pontoon that is far too small for several dinghies. When the water is low it is almost impossible to get on this jetty and certainly not with shopping. You pay $10 per day. The lady who works in this office is very arrogant and rude. She treats the people who anchor their ships in front of the marina like dirt. I watched her scold a woman who had a small garbage bag with her. This costs another $5 which isn't mentioned anywhere. The Marina is actually very nice if it weren't for this unfriendly and impudent lady in the office who has absolutely no reason to pride herself on anything and to treat people like 2nd class. ...

The people at the marina are not friendly or welcoming if you are anchored and want to use the dinghy dock or have any other questions. For $20/day you can park you dinghy at a dock with rusty nails sticking out. It's in front of security though, so it's safe. They take trash $5/bag. We stayed in the marina for 1 night, but unfortunately the showers were all taken all times we went to look if they were free. Next day we anchored cause we needed to check-out before 12 (staying in marina is $$$ for cruisers) and took the dinghy, but acces was denied. Saying that we could have taken a shower at 11 in the evening. Thank you Bay Street Marina, you could be nicer to persons with a little less money. Hope you learn...

If your looking to pull into Nassau and stay for a little bit this is your place. The pool is always great to swim in and the Green Parrot will keep you full. The secret is breakfast, there is a breakfast sandwich in the restaurant next to the green parrot to start your day off right. The staff will take care of any request you have, Jackie runs a professional staff! There is a shuttle that runs to and from the grocery store that they can arrange for you during resupply runs.
