I had a frustrating experience at Potters Cay Dock with the crew of the boat Knox. I asked the workers what time the boat would be leaving, and based on the time they gave me, I returned only to find out the boat had long left.
Whether it was a mistake or a misunderstanding, it caused me to miss the trip entirely. There's absolutely no excuse for this kind of misinformation. As a paying customer, I expected at least basic communication and reliability. Either the workers didn't know what they were talking about or simply didn't care enough to give accurate information. In either case, it's unacceptable.
If this is how they treat people who are trying to support their business, I won't be returning and I'd strongly advise others to be cautious before relying on anything...

This is the relaxing, socializing part of the dock. As you move in after the entrance there is a small produce exchange area. Various fruits and vegetables can be found in this area. The third area is found to the far right and left of the dock. This area is where freight and cargo boats are founds. Each both goes to another island of the Bahamas. Read morePotters Cay Dock is a very unique and authentic Bahamian experience. There are the food stalls, the sales of various seafood and the mailboat deliveries, arrivals and departures. It is organized chaos and everyone visiting knows their purpose and where they are headed. You will come into contact with persons from all backgrounds, therefore you should come with an open mind and a calm spirit before entering. It can be loud but also very entertaining just watching the interactions of so many persons. The food and people are as authentic as it gets. Personally, I love Potter Cay Dock...
