Exceptional experience with this place. Highly recommend!
Rooms were super spacious and clean. Housekeeping is done daily. Water isn’t available in the room but a simple request at the bar at the cafe on the ground floor should suffice. 🧼 Beds were super comfortable. Their pillows were smaller than usual pillows but not too small. Perfectly comfortable. The sheets and blankets were clean and comfortable too. I’ve never used better toiletries in a hotel room than I did here. Everything smelled so nice, you’d not want to wash it off you! ✨ They have a coffee machine, water heating appliance, coffee pods, mugs and a fridge in the room. They also have a full length mirror in the room. It wasn’t noisy except for anyone loudly passing by at nighttime. The only tiny issue we had was the darkness in the room. But switching on all lights made it decently lit. However, there’s no way to make it too bright if that’s how you like your space. (You can very very easily compensate for this dip with the quality of everything else!)
WiFi is available and easily accessible.
The hot tub (jacuzzi) on the P level is a blessing. After a long hike or canoeing, it’s just the perfect place to relax in. Ample towels available for use. Clean changing room also available with a shower cubicle and amenities in it too. Lots of hooks available to hang clothes onto.
The inn is located right opposite one of the ‘Roam’ bus stops and a crossing away from another, making it easier and quicker to get onto the transit buses for some of the main tourist spots like Lake Louise, Tunnel Mountain, the gondola at Sulphur Mountain, Fairmont, etc. The hotel also provides free ‘Roam’ passes for routes 1&2. The hotel is also one crossing away from the beginning of the downtown area so it’s easily walkable.
Its closeness to an IGA convenience store and eateries like Cafe Good Earth or Flame & Fire is also very convenient!
Reception staff is super friendly and helpful. We had to bother them a few times for some questions but they did not complain.
Check in is at 4pm and check out is at 11am.
Free ice vending machines available. Machines are also available for paid soda separately,
The lift is slightly far from some of the rooms but that was not too much of a hassle for us, honestly. If you’d like rooms closer to the lift, it would be a better idea to include the request as early...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Ptarmigan Inn in Banff, Canada with my family , and I couldn't have been more satisfied with my experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and excellent service.
Location: The location of the Ptarmigan Inn is unbeatable. Nestled in the heart of Banff, it's just a short walk to the main street, where you can find a variety of shops, restaurants, and cafes. The convenience of being close to the town center while still feeling secluded and surrounded by nature was a perfect balance.
Rooms: The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-appointed with all the necessary amenities. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a day of exploring. If they had microwave , it would have been great but no complains they had coffee plus fridge .
Amenities: The hotel offers a range of amenities that enhance the experience. The hot tubs were a highlight, providing a relaxing way to unwind after a day of hiking and sightseeing. The complimentary bus tickets , and yes it’s easy to travel in bus here than searching for parking .Additionally, the free underground parking was a convenient perk.
Bathroom is little congested but very clean and extra mirrors would help especially if you travelling with a family.
Service: The staff at the Ptarmigan Inn were exceptional. From check-in to check-out, every interaction was friendly and professional. They were knowledgeable about the local area and provided great recommendations for dining and activities. Their genuine care for guests' comfort was evident throughout my stay.
Overall Experience: The Ptarmigan Inn exceeded my expectations in every way. The combination of a prime location, comfortable accommodations, excellent amenities, and outstanding service made for a memorable stay. Whether you're visiting Banff for outdoor adventures or a relaxing getaway, the Ptarmigan Inn is an excellent choice.
I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a top-notch experience in Banff. I will definitely be returning on my next visit to this beautiful...
Read moreOverall, Banff Lodging Co. needs to get a grip - if you're going to charge astronomical rates, then at least RENOVATE and offer some basic services that even 2 and 3 star hotels have. TL;DR - overpriced, hotel is drab/ick, no room service, no iron or ironing board, or anything other than the usual towels and toiletries.
We got married at Moose Hotel, but since the rooms were $900/night, we decided to stay at Banff Ptarmigan Inn ($450/night) for the night before and night of the wedding since it was next store. They gave us a complimentary upgrade to a superior mountain view (which was nice of them at the front desk) but the room was basic, had no water bottles, coffee/tea, iron, or ironing board, nothing...so I can't even speak to or imagine what the basic king room looked like and didn't have, but for $450/night, we expected some sort of, well, anything. However, we looked passed it since we weren't spending much time in the room anyway. The next morning (our wedding day), we figured we'd order breakfast to the room but upon calling in, we were told we'd have to pick it up downstairs. Now, we know this isn't a huge deal, but even Hilton's, Hyatt's, and even the darn Fairfield will have room service. That was kind of the tipping point for us. Not to mention, the lobby is so outdated as are the rest of the facilities. It's unfortunate that Banff Lodging Co is kind of a monopoly, but they need to get real and hear the truth.
For a comparison, we stayed at The Dorothy (also Banff Lodging Co.) the night prior, and our room there was newly renovated so just as nice, if not nicer than here...so save your money...
