The Canadian Brewhouse (Banff) — Restaurant in Banff

Our experience at The Canadian Brewhouse Banff left much to be desired. It all began when our food order arrived completely wrong. We had specifically requested nachos with extra cheese, for which we paid an additionally. However the nachos arrived without much cheese.

We decided to try the fish and chips. The fish was overcooked and dry, lacking any semblance of flavor or tenderness. The chips were undercooked and limp, resulting in a plate of unappetizing and unsatisfying food.

Despite the culinary disasters, we must acknowledge the efforts of our young waitress. She did everything she could to rectify the situation and was incredibly apologetic for the mistakes made by the kitchen.

However, our frustration continued to mount when we ordered a blackened chicken burger and a veggie buffalo burger. After waiting for twenty minutes, we were served a buffalo chicken burger instead of the blackened chicken we had requested, and we were informed that they had run out of veggie patties. This level of unprofessionalism and disorganisation is simply unacceptable.

In terms of the food, we can only give The Canadian Brewhouse a dismal rating of 1 out of 5. The incorrect orders, lack of attention to detail, and poor quality of the dishes left us thoroughly disappointed. However, we must commend our waitress for her efforts, earning the service a rating of 4 out of 5. We visited the Canadian Brewhouse in Banff this past weekend. Our Server (I can't remember her name) was attentive and very friendly and gave great service. However have to give a huge shoutout to Jun who I believe was the Host at the door. We inquired about a local store where we could find a specific product and he happily told us the best place to go. We were happy enough with that - he then came back to our table about 15 minutes later and said that he had contacted that specific store to inquire about the products we were looking for and was able to find out that they had the product we needed and on top of it that there was a discount available based on our cell phone providers and if we went down to the store when we were finished our meal they would take care of us. We went down to the store and the employees knew why we were there and had the product options readily available and gave us the discount as well. This is the above and beyond type of customer service that is missing in our world today. Thank you Jun for taking care of us - on a busy Saturday when going above and beyond your regular role may have seemed unnecessary. We really, really appreciated it! Wish I could give no stars. I normally only review restaurants I have a positive experience with, but I feel I need to leave this review to warn incoming tourists about this place. Wait staff appeared as though they couldn’t be bothered to attend to customers, our waitress on multiple occasions disappeared for long periods of time and we felt as though we were inconveniencing her by keeping her from hanging out with to her coworkers. Very poorly managed location, all wait staff can be seen in clusters talking around the restaurant not appearing to do any work what so ever. Normally if the service was good, this wouldn’t have bothered me but service was very poor and they made no attempt to look like they were actually working - just just stood around. As well, burgers are easily identified as frozen and there are very few vegetarian options. SAVE YOUR MONEY! Ended up getting dominos (best decision ever! So good especially the spinach cheese bread!!) the next night due to this cities awful restaurant reviews including this one I’m leaving right now. I try and support local when I can but after this brewhouse experience I didn’t want to waste my money or time on another...
