Southpark on Whyte — Local services in Greater Strathcona

I have loved living here for the last 3 years, the management especially Tom Aboagye and Natatia Sergeant have been very helpful.

I have a top floor unit and last year they had some issues with the rooftop handling unit and it created a very disruptive noise in my unit for several months on end. They did their best to correct the issue and although there is not a permanent solution to the noise issues of this building, they went above and beyond to help manage the complaints.

I would give this place a better rating but the neighbourhood has a very high crime rate. I love it for the convenient location to my work, they do a great job of keeping it clean and the bakery is delicious and they are pet friendly and the dog spa is lovely.

Unfortunately though the noise levels from the street traffic is very high and the car dealership parking lot to the south of the building can be really disruptive, the sales people often set off the car alarms looking for specific vehicles and this has been an ongoing issue that is especially worse in the summer time.

The amenities and the gym are excellent however the one complaint I have about the units are the dryers, they are not very efficient and it takes several hours to dry towels and bedding.

If it weren't for the high crime rate in the surrounding area and the noise pollution the building would be great. Also, if you live above the gym, there is a loud echo when people drop weights that you can hear all the way to the 5th floor.

All in all, it is noisy but it is convenient and the management does a great job. It's fairly expensive though so if you plan to move in, expect to pay a 3.3% rent increase annually. Also, utilities for this building on average for a one bedroom cost upwards of $200/month. At least that's been my experience,...

I've been living at Southpark on Whyte for a bit over 3 months now and my experience has been a wonderful one. First, the location is ideal - walking distance to everything and the river valley is a 10 minute walk away which makes for lovely quiet nature walks. Second, the amenities are great - their newest amenity is a pop-up dog park just across from the building (far away enough that you never hear any barking but close enough for some adorable dog watching fun). Third, the building itself is brand new and well-maintained - always clean, quiet and garbage disposal is indoors so you don't have to go outside. Fourth, the units themselves are great, I love mine so much - spacious, lots of cupboard storage space in the kitchen, windows throughout filling the apartment with natural light and having AC (which apparently isn't common to many apartment buildings in Edmonton) has been wonderful given the summer heat. Probably one of the biggest differentiators though is management. Vishal & Tejas are always prompt, reliable, helpful, approachable and regularly go above and beyond to ensure a positive experience for their tenants.It's a refreshing experience seeing a property management that actually cares and is on top of it all. Cons - the washing machine & dryer are a bit too tiny tbh. I highly recommend choosing to live at...

The location is brilliant …. Walking distance to restaurants, grocery stores and medical/drug stores…

The way the apartments are planned they are nicely lit for most time of the day…the air condition and heating systems are top notch!!

We have been living here since 6months now and at time of our move in Vishal and Tejas we’re very helpful… then came in Tom …. Oh he has been simply superb!!! He goes out of his way to help the tenants… our car broke down and he tried everything possible to help us get it started in the snow storm….even offered to help me drive to Canadian tyre in his car to get some stuff!!

The team here is very helpful and prompt in addressing any concerns about anything!!! We had our thermostat shut down during Christmas and though it was a holiday they ensured Chris came by and get it started!!!

It’s a team like this that makes a business successful…. I’d tell One property management to ensure that this team be taken care of as they will ensure your business to succeed….

And oh I almost forgot … the get together events Tom organises are amazing in themselves….
