Murray's Farm Butcher Shoppe — Local services in Hamilton

I should have read the previous review as this is now a recurring issue with Murray’s. On Monday, I called to inquire about their short rib inventory. They told me they did not have any but they will get some in by Friday evening if I place an order. Delighted, I placed an order. On Friday morning, I called to confirm my order was still on track. Then in the evening on Friday, they informed me that they did not receive any short ribs from their vendor. It would have been a better interaction if they gave a heads up prior to placing the order that there is no guarantee they will receive short ribs from their vendor. Instead, they continued to confirm that everything was on track. I was left scrambling for an important dinner. Thankfully J.Waldron Butchers still had short ribs in stock- great quality and...

11am Sunday morning and I enter to music so loud one would have to shout over it to be heard. Fair enough, perhaps they were in "just opened" mode, and upon realizing they had a customer to serve it would be turned down to a reasonable level. The woman at the counter, who frankly seemed indifferent to my presence, turned it down slightly, to an inappropriate level, from a completely inappropriate level. Clearly more interested in the loud tunes than the customer. This is not a commentary on the product, which is generally very good, but is a commentary on what a complete turn-off this experience was, and left me feeling like I could care less if I shopped at Murray's again. I had ordered a crown roast of pork from a local chain grocery store for my Dad's 95th birthday dinner. I went to pick it up at 5:50 pm the night before. It was terrible, not at all what I ordered, too small, and crooked and a huge disappointment. I googled butchers in Hamilton and Murray's came up. I called them at 6 pm and explained the situation. Although they were short staffed, they committed to getting a crown roast ready for me the next morning. It was SPECTACULAR and the quality of the meat was very high and mouth wateringly delicious. It was a huge hit at the dinner and I was very grateful to Murray's which will be my GO TO butcher in the future. ...
