Chocolaterie Chocomax — Restaurant in Montreal

DISAPPOINTING. I’ve been going to chocomax since i was a little girl. used to be owned by a passionate man who loved the craft of making chocolate and gelato/used to be the best gelato in town. now it feels overpriced, the service is bad, prices unclear/seems like they force you to tip or something. stomach ache immediately. was so excited to visit from out of town and have a proper milkshake…well now it’s a 10$ cup of milk that was too sweet to finish. no ice-cream in there to shake. Never been so disappointed with a gelato spot in my life. I MISS THE OLD CHOCOMAX made with love, not with greed.

*added after the response from establishment below: based on the passive aggressive response, pretty in-line with the service received in general, please don’t worry about what i will and won’t be reading. I obviously don’t plan on coming back. appreciate the friendly and family-oriented response that, don’t worry, has been screenshotted. my mistake to assume a 10$ milkshake would contain more than just milk and sugar. good luck with the business, too bad it was sold to whoever is running it now, leaving such professional and apologetic responses.

Incredible!!! The food there is just amazingly good!!! All made with the best quality ingredients!!! The chocolate itself is the Callebeaut brand (which is the best belgian chocolate you can find on the market!). The people there are warm and welcoming. It's small and cozy. Great place to go with friends and family! Try the Old Fashion hot chocolate, it's DELICIOUS!!! It's just like you'd expect the chocolate to be back in the days! And during summer, you've GOT to try their ice cream! Everybody goes back for seconds! And let's not forget their coffee either! REALLY yummy!

I cannot wait to go back to eat the pastries they make on-site!!! I just wish there'd be Chocomax at every corners coz I live so far and I just can't get enough of that place, its food/beverages, and the warm and welcoming people... And the clients are also warm and welcoming! You make new friends easily at that place... Makes me think of "Cheers"... where everybody knows...

First off, apologies for the not-so-great pictures, they don’t do justice for how AMAZING the chocolates are 😭

You can taste the quality of the chocolates, they’re very decadent and they carry a variety of flavours. We also had their hot chocolate and it’s a must try!!! The texture is very rich, they make it out of real chocolate (I.e not made out of powder). Even when they were making it, the lady made us try it first and asked if we wanted more chocolate, which I found to be nice of her!!

The service… is honestly impeccable. The lady was so nice and informative when it came to explaining the chocolates. She even made us try a few to see which ones we liked! We’ll definitely come back to try their ice creams when it’s back in season 😊

Overall, if you’re looking for high quality chocolates with 5 star service, this is the place to visit. I felt like a kid at the Willy Wonka chocolate factory 😂
