Update: I've been coming to this sushi restaurant for years and I wanted to give it another try recently. I ordered a platter for take out and all of the people who used to like Kyoto were extremely disappointed. What happened to the quality of the sushi? Too much rice Too much cucumber Too much imitation crab Under seasoned rice ... nothing was great. It was actually embarrassing to serve the sushi platter to my guest from Toronto.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I used to love this restaurant and I do still love it. However, I've noticed that the portion of the special futomakis(geisha, Hokkaido, ..etc) got much smaller than before :( Slightly bigger than hosomaki. I thought I was the only one, but my other friends experienced the same thing recently(regular customers). We're all a bit disappointed unfortunately. The beauty of this restaurant was good quality and reasonable price for the size of the portions, but not anymore. Still this restaurant serves you the best quality. I love the grilled eel!! It is the best in town. I really miss dining out in this restaurant and ordering fresh Otoro and uni. Hopefully all their special menus will...

The restaurant was kind enough to resolve our issue which is truly appreciated because we love the food there and other sushi places we’ve tried are far below this one. So changing my review! Holidays are always hectic and one bad service experience will not deter us in coming back to this place, best sushi in MTL.

We’ve been regular clients for over a year and are coming all the way from West Island to get sushis at this restaurant. Tonight when arriving to pick up our order we were told it wasn’t confirmed « on their endĀ Ā» and wouldn’t be ready for another 1h30. My husband showed the confirmation email with the pick up time we had received (he was actually 10 min late to pick up the food) but it didn’t change anything. Nothing was proposed to make up for this. Really disappointed of this customer service, we can’t wait an extra 1h30 for no reason. And since we have to drive 45 min to get these sushis I guess we won’t order there anymore, not knowing if our order is confirmed « on their end »….. This was supposed to be our treat for our last meal with family visiting from far away, disappointment is at an...

A cute little sushi shop featuring an amazing miso soup (no tofu though), great tempura (pumpkin!) and delicious sushi. I'll first say that this may be my favourite sushi in Montreal so far.... But I have nitpicks. The maki had incredible sauces but often weren't fully closed (open algea). The sashimi was tasty but 3 times too thick and generally big (see picture). The nigiri had a nice kick to it but this means it has too much wasabi for some (not me but my date ended up avoiding them because of it). A running theme seems to be "unmatched taste but poorly assembled" as every piece would crumble and fall apart upon being picked up. Great sake by the way and an appreciated detail is that everything was brought quickly and exactly at the right temperature (hot sake but not boiling, hot tempura but not burning, etc.). Highly recommended but expect to...

Good food, fast and courteous service, but it could improve. The taste is there and I must come back again to check the consistency. But nice surprise so far. Need to improve on the water filling though. Verdict : definitely give it a try. Came back again in April 2022 and still good. Came again in August 2023, still good. Tried again in January 2024. I think is going towards a 5**** soon. Came back again in March 2024 still great. Came back again in May 2024 and still the same quality. Again in June 2024 still good. Again in July 2024.February 2025. May 2025. Now, September 2025. I tried octopus salad and would NOT recommend - very chewy. It deserves 5 stars, just for the effort they put so will raise my 4 to 5. Keep up the good job. I can only say there is another sushi restaurant in Montreal as good as this one. Verdict : give it a try.

Quaint little Japanese restaurant, run and owned by all Korean staff. The chef owner has lived many years in Japan so is fluent in Japanese. The service is friendly, though food preparation could be extremely slow when there’s a lot of people and take out orders, but well worth the wait as this is no doubt the best sushi restaurant in ville saint-laurent. Portions are quite generous and the fish are fresh. I know that locals like to eat maki rolls, but this place is a little more traditional and serves some really nice sashimi and nigiri, which I much prefer. I especially like uni, ikura and aji, which they have as long as it’s in season. The traffic here is getting more and more busy. It is now quite difficult to get a table due to its popularity. Do call in advance and put down a reservation. Otherwise, try to go early.
