Terrasse Teranga — Local services in Montreal

I had the pleasure of attending the last event of the summer season at Terrasse Teranga in 2024, and it was an unforgettable experience. As a Haitian foodie, I know good accras, and theirs was spot on—crispy on the outside, tender inside, and packed with flavor. The event was full of Black excellence and African pride, with vibrant energy and live music that created the perfect atmosphere for a cultural celebration.

Ambiance

The atmosphere was lively, welcoming, and full of life. The decor was warm and inviting, and the space quickly filled with people enjoying great food, dancing, and connecting. The live music added to the experience, and the dj created an unforgettable vibe with Afrobeat hits and African rhythms.

Food

The event offered a fixed menu, and while I don’t normally go for fish, I was pleasantly surprised by the Thiéboudienne—a classic Senegalese rice and fish dish. The fish was tender and perfectly prepared. The rice was a standout, rich in flavor and beautifully seasoned, soaking up all the spices.

The accras were truly exceptional—not only were they crispy and full of savory goodness, but they were also plated the best I’ve ever seen with a fresh salad on top. It was a visual delight as much as a tasty one, and I could have easily enjoyed a whole plate of them alone.

Drinks

I opted for white wine, which complemented the meal perfectly. However, I could tell the cocktails were likely just as delicious, with an exciting drink menu that would pair well with the lively vibe of the event.

Service

The service was friendly and enthusiastic, and although there was a slight delay due to the event’s popularity, the staff made sure we were well taken care of. Their positive attitude really helped create a fun and relaxed atmosphere.

Pricing

Given the quality of the food, the live music, and the overall experience, the prices were very reasonable. It’s great value for such a vibrant cultural event.

Overall Experience

Terrasse Teranga is more than just a rooftop restaurant—it’s a celebration of culture, music, and incredible food. From the accras to the Thiéboudienne, everything was delicious. My only complaint? I wish there had been a little dessert to round off the meal, but that’s a small detail in an otherwise amazing experience. I’m already looking forward to returning for more events this year. We really enjoyed our time here; excellent food, amazing live music and very lovely concept. We had to leave early because of how cold it was later in the evening, and they told us they didn't have any hot water remaining nor a kettle to boil some for us. L'endroit est vraiment charmant et nous avons une très belle vue du centre-ville.

Dommage que la terrasse ne soit pas ouverte en permanence au public avec service bar/restaurant mais qui sait un jour...

Pour y accéder, il faut soit louer la terrasse pour la journée ou sinon on peut toujours participer aux différentes activités organisées...
