Palazo — Restaurant in Montreal

I never did a review on anything because as you probably guessed we’re all busy and have other things to do but after what I experienced there. There might be a reason you see all these 5 stars review without a proper explanation only bad reviews take time to explain what is going on with that place.

Well, my review is not to only be negative about this place but to emphasize how I do not recommend to anyone. Giving a good service is a must even if you’re working as a security guard. We all know the Montreal’s lifestyle and managing some people can be difficult. However, the security guard are not only rude but disrespectful. Please take in serious consideration what I am saying, they do not know how to respect people and they think very highly of themselves. Not only that, they often do things that they are not legally supposed to do, I saw them pushing people and aggressively grabbing people inside by force which is not acceptable. Honestly they are not professional on that side.This is my second time going there and the second time was no different from last time. I’m Highly disappointed and I talk not to ruin their image but to truly share my experiences. I have been to many clubs and I’ve never seen anyone treating the way that those people treated me twice now. They got to be the only ones in mtl rude like that. And let’s not talk about the crazy price they ask for man to enter. Trust, it is not worth it.

The bottle girl working at the entrance of the bar on the right side when you come in, is a special case. She forced my friend who bought bottles to give tips and i think she even put the tips amount herself saying that it’s mandatory to give tips. It is not ! Service has to be well given before even talking about giving a tip which was missing before we even enter.

When it comes to music, I can recognize that they have good music and the place itself is nice but I would be scared to go there if I was a girl fr. There are really creepy old people in there. To be brutally honest, it’s feels like there are predators there. Remember this is my second time with the exact same situation. This time, I saw a drunk girl in the middle of 3 old men and they were all over her, aggressively kissing and touching her. It felt horribly uncomfortable. Security passed by and probably didn’t feel like checking if she was alright. That’s the kind of security they got there… so if you don’t feel comfortable with those type of people this is not the place.

There are way too many good clubs in Montreal to be this unpleasant. I am never going back there and...

👉We made a reservation through Instagram for two people. We are tourists in this city. I think people who come to visit the city as tourists deserve to be treated at least as guests. After making your reservation via Instagram, we arrived at the nightclub. We received a very warm welcome. Then we were asked if we would rent a table. We said we wanted to get in like a normal customer. Then he said you should queue. After waiting in line for about 30 minutes, the same person came to the door with a good excuse and said that your clothes were not suitable for going in and having fun. By the way, we were wearing very stylish jeans, a nice t-shirt and a nice coat, I mean, our outfit seemed to fit the concept, but the manager at the door made the following offer; He said, "If you open a bottle of vodka inside, I can let you in." This is true for every customer who comes, especially if they are tourists at the door, and coming only to have fun with good intentions is definitely going beyond the concept of a customer and turning into a scam. I regret to say that he did everything to pluck us like chickens, of course. we refused to go in! It was really a very sad situation that a nightclub that belonged to a distinguished city like Montreal and had a good score behaved like this. I would like to make this comment as a Google local guide. My friends who read it may have happened to some of them or they may have experienced something like this before. I don't know, I'm just sharing my own experience without any malicious intent. My aim here is not to denigrate the nightclub, I'm just trying to explain that the concept is aimed at robbing customers, so I recommend you not to go inside when you encounter such things. My friends and I got bottle service at Palazo for my friends birthday. Prior to the night, we had confirmed via DM that it was going to be 50$ a person and we were going to be a given a table. However, when we got there was no table waiting for us and we were given conflicting directions by the seemingly 30 staff standing around, waving flashlights like they were on a nighttime military raid.

Eventually, we were given a very small standing room only table in a freezing cold spot by the door and told to wait there for our waitress to come. Despite there being staff everywhere, not a single waitress approached us for over an hour and a half, and eventually we had to track someone down to place our multi-hundred dollar order. Rather than apologize, a few of our group were taken into the back of the club by the owner who proceeded to charge us over $100 more than initially agreed upon. When asked for gratuity, we offered 15% — a generous offer after we were made to wait for more than an hour. However, the waitress told us that the clubs policy was 18% or higher…

At every turn, the service was abysmal and the club tried to leech more money from us. Other highlights included our waitress pouring herself a shot of our bottle without asking (again, after we stood waiting for her for over an hour), a little person dressed as Cupid, and the urinal exploding causing pee/vomit filled water all over the bathroom floors. Overall, the decor is cool and the music and vibe is decent, if weird, but the disrespectful we were shown by the clubs staff ensured that I will never patronize...
