Read moreTonight was my first time and last time at this bar/restaurant. I was greeted at the door and seatrd quickly.. but after that everything was down hill even though the restaurant was half empty. We waited close to 40 mins to take our order and the one thing we ordered 5 mins later the waitress came back and said they no longer have no more ravioli.. We did not get any water plates forks and our drinks until 5 mins after our appetisers already came out. Additionally the appetisers we ordered were supposed to be free when you downloaded their app and give them the code but at the end of the night when i recieved the bill they tried to charge us $20 for them. The food was nothing better than what you would get in the frozen food section at a grocery store but the grocery price is about one fifth. My god 2 hrs of my life I will never get back.. Finally i was feeling sorry for the waitress and was going to give her a 15% tip even after the terrible food and service but after trying to overcharge us for the free bread sticks and saying we did not show her the code which was a total lie she got what she deserved zero percent tip.. i have been to this bar restaurant on Niagara on the lake called bricks and barley which is 1000% better than this place.. the great canadian brewhouse bad food and small portions at a high price. Also when i got home i had a stomach ache it was so bad. I am writing this review with stomach pains . Terrible terrible terrible.. just look at the pictures of the food what you get for over $20 a plate we did not even...
Read moreFirst impressions of the Canadian Brewhouse were good. It looks quite nice and seems very clean. A very informal atmosphere to kick back and enjoy some food and conversation. Our waitress was very friendly, but not particularly knowledgable or expressive. When I asked what the soup of the day was, she answered "Um... It's, like... a tomato soup kinda thing... with parsley...?" I decided against. I ordered deep fried pickles as an appetizer. They were basic, run-of-the-mill fried pickles that you could get from anywhere. For my main I ordered the Thursday pasta special, Beef Stroganoff, which was deeply disappointing. There was barely any sauce on the noodles and the beef was almost nowhere to be found. When I did come across a scrap of beef, it had the consistency of shaved deli roast-beef; not what I expect in stroganoff. The dish had almost no flavour; it was bland and pointless. The beer selection was good, the wine selection was fine. They're in their 3rd week of operation, and the staff may just not be up to speed in either service or food prep, yet, but I honestly don't think I would give it a second chance when there are competitors with consistently good food at...
