Jolly Bubble Richmond — Local services in Richmond

We recently visited Jolly Bubble Richmond last week and in fact we rented one of their rooms (Ultimate Triple Room) . It was such a horrible experience for my family and guest. They were very disorganized, our guest complained about front people checking them in being plain disrespectful, and miscommunication from staff. First of all, from the get go, we inquired about the pricing (specifically for the ultimate triple room package) the manager “Winnie” emailed us the wrong package pricing ($1450 + 15% discount). I didn’t think of the price until I visited their website. It dropped to ($1299 + 15% discount). Which I was not told.. she sent me an invoice for $1363.95 without the discount, so I notified her that “Eric” (another rep I spoke with when we went there in person) had quoted us $1159.36 (discount differs through which day of the week- also shows on their website). She sent another invoice for the correct amount. Day of the party; got there for 1:30 room was set up with birthday hate/whistles for each kid which was great. The package also includes 1. Cotton candy for birthday child - did not receive 2. Party assistant- did not receive. Was told they are there only when the kids sing happy birthday.. sure for what??? 3. Birthday song time & photo time (10 mins)- the staff literally went in the room to LIGHT THE CANDLE and stood by the table doing nothing else .. we could’ve easily done that. There was no birthday song what so ever.. no photo time whatever that means to them 4. Cake cutting service- don’t know exactly what they mean by this…. Asked the staff but did not receive an answer they literally told me “I’ll get back to you” did they? No they didn’t. I saw the staff 2x the whole time we were there and the last time I saw her was when she told us to pack it up 30 mins before our end time.. and that was it. As seen on their social media, the birthday celebrant has their name by their door so guest can easily find which room is for the birthday celebrant.. daughters name was no where to be seen. I also asked them for the juice box if this was included in our package.. again, staff said we will get back to you. Did they? No. I spoke with Winnie (manager) and told her my concerns.. she then told me that they were under staff and her staff is working over time. This is not an excuse considering we paid for the service AND the fact that she mentioned they were over capacity.. ummmm, then don’t sell anymore tickets. Clearly they weren’t thinking about their staff nor customers. The way they just handled things were just super messy, and things just didn’t add up.. Their climbing area has time slot regulations on weekends. During the 5:00-6:00 interval, there were fewer than 10 children tall enough (120 cm) waiting in line for the rock climb. We visited about two weeks ago, and our child had a great time, so we specifically drove to Richmond this time to buy tickets and play again. However, the staff at the rock climb told us that each child could only play once. Last time, there were many children in line, and we managed to play three times. This time, however, the rock climb was nearly empty with only a few children, and the staff were just standing around chatting, yet they wouldn’t let our child play again. It doesn’t make any sense! The rock climb is open for one hour. If there had been many children and we couldn't get a turn, that would be understandable, but there were hardly any children playing, and there were still 40 minutes left. The staff would rather leave the area empty, with them standing around chatting, than let our child play again. The wall has safety instructions, height requirements, and opening hours, but nowhere does it mention that each child can only play once! It costs over $30 for one child and one adult. For older children, the rock climb is much more fun than the slides and pretend play. Since it’s an all-ages playground, why is there a rule that older children can only play once on the rock climb? I can understand time slot restrictions, but when it’s not busy, no one’s waiting in line, and the staff are just chatting, it’s completely unreasonable to only let our child play once. Chaos, unsanitary bathroom and poor rules.

It is highly recommended that you go on weekdays unless you want to witness a total chaotic scene of kids running rampant and adults otherwise filling up every available physical space. Not sure if there is any sort of crowd control or attention paid to occupancy limits.

Every one is required to take their shoes off as they enter which is standard for this kind of place. The problem is that the bathroom is at the very back of the place which is also shoeless. Expect to see urine on the floor and then the kids stepping in the urine in their socks, then going back to the playground to spread it around. You get the picture. You either have to let people wear shoes or slippers in the bathroom or have near constant cleaning to ensure sanitary conditions.

There is this one firefighter arcade game that every kid wants to play. It is operated by coins, which you get 2-4 for free depending on the type of pass you buy or you can purchase the coins outright I understand. Somehow, our kids found themselves stuck behind two women and their young kids who somehow had a whole bunch of coins. Taking turns is not something these people are accustomed to. After 15 minutes, I asked these people to consider taking turns to no avail. Eventually they left because I think the kids felt embarrassed for their parents. There has to be better rules for this ONE arcade. It’s like at the gym or tennis court, when you see people waiting then it is human to consider taking turns, if not in Asia, but certainly in Vancouver. I highly suggest that the rules be changed to two sessions maximum when there are others waiting regardless of how many...
