Cottage Toys — Local services in Selwyn

Bought a Hobie Outback at Cottage Toys this April (2024) only to find it did not come with the standard turbo fins. Wrote to the owner he said that he will get the correct item for me from Hobie.

After trading a few emails, he went dark and never respond to my emails in demand for the status.

THIS IS TO FOLLOW UP ON THE ABOVE ISSUE.

RECEIVED A FOLLOW UP CALL LAST WEEK (FEB 21, 2025) REGARDING WHY THEY DID NOT COME BACK TO ME...AS THERE'S BEEN MIS-COMMUNICATION WITHIN THEIR OPERATION HENCE THE ISSUE WAS NOT PICK UP AND FOLLOW UP.

APOLOGY ACCEPTED AND THEY JUST SENT ME (VIA EXPRESS COURIER) THE TURBO FINS. SATISFIED WITH THE FINAL OUTCOME AND IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO SHARE MY EXPERIENCE.

I’ve been blessed with good customer service on many occasions in my 72 years but this takes the cake!

I had a lengthy drive to Cottage Toys today to buy pool noodles, as their website indicated they had some in stock. They did not. But instead of having me leave empty-handed, the owners drove to their place, came back and sold me TWO OF THEIR OWN!! At a discount, I might add.

I’ve never been the recipient of service like that and I would HIGHLY recommend them if you’re in the Lakefield/Stony Lake area and looking for cottage/pool supplies and clothing. They have an impressive collection of anything you might need.

Spontaneous stop for an infant life jacket. They were very knowledgeable and super helpful. Picked the best suited preserver we could’ve asked for !
