Menchie's Frozen Yogurt (Guildford) — Local services in Surrey

My family and I used to visit here regularly and never had any issues other than sometimes a lack of flavours. After our recent visit, we'll be visiting a different location from now on. It started out frustrating that half of the flavours on display had the "low" light flashing and nothing was coming out of the machines. There was no initiative from the staff member, after we tried the third flavour that was out, to try and fill up the mix in the back. Unfortunately that was not the tipping point. A few bites into my yogurt, I found one dead fruit fly after the other - three in total from what I saw before I took it to the front. The response I got was "if this happens, you can just get another yogurt with the same amount". There were no questions asked about what toppings I had or an attempt to try and figure out exactly where the flies had come from. What I gathered was that this is a common occurrence and the staff member told me it's because the sugar in the open toppings in the cooler attracts the flies. I ended up getting another yogurt with no toppings and proceeded to see the staff member refilling the topping station without taking out and cleaning the inserts. It is appalling to me, who has worked in customer service for 15 years, that there was no apology and no effort to try and prevent this from happening to someone else. As mentioned, we will no longer be visiting this location and hope that the staff here take more consideration towards cleanliness...

It smelled "old" in there as soon as we walked in. Mildew? Did not smell clean and yet we pressed on, wanting froyo.

Half the machines didn't have yogurt in them.

The tart flavor was so watery. Didn't know frozen yogurt could taste so freezer burned but here we are

The serving spoon for the cherries was wet somehow, where has this handle been? 😆

The price is the price - everything is expensive in this economy so I expect no less than gouging. I don't mind if it's good, but this wasn't.

The tip option at the payment terminal is the final umm no thank you

Used to love this place, it was a fantastic option to take the family for a fun DIY dessert, even if it was $30 for the family. I don't think I'd go back even if it was $1.

Is this just what it is now to go out for...

If I could rate this place no stars, I would! This was my first time at Menchies, my girlfriend’s first time since before Covid. I understand things have changed since then, and they don’t let you sample flavours anymore. Totally fine, I understand.

I really wish they did though, cause I wouldn’t have wasted $12 just to throw it in the garbage and walk out….. the flavours I picked were coffee and Reese peanut butter frozen yogurt, added sliced almonds, peanuts, Oreos, and Reese peanut butter cup chunks with caramel sauce.

I took the first few spoonfuls and it legitimately tasted like nothing. No flavour AT ALL! I even asked my girlfriend if I was crazy and got her to try it and she agreed, no flavour…. Complete waste of money and will never be back. Don’t waste your time here. Huge let down and...
