So I have very good Google reviews! Very very seldomly do I give a low review for any restaurant in my community.... So we've been going here for years. It's like our second favorite place to go.. well unfortunately today will be the last. It was not busy in there and there was a new server I've never seen before.. she did not look impressed when me and my 10-year-old daughter walked in... She was more involved in her conversation with maybe family or friends (speaking Korean which isn't Is it my problem I also speak some Korean and am fluent in other languages) . She came to the table. There was three other tables in there that were already eating.... I wanted water. My daughter wanted iced tea. No problem..... My water came to the table warm with a dirty cup.... Again, I didn't say anything. It's whatever.... My daughter got her iced tea.... I ordered a dynamite roll, 2 rice and tempura and miso. We got the rice and the half cooked tempura.... Again, whatever it happens.... I had to wave her over well she was communicating with her friends or other customers or whatever who are getting amazing service..... I waited 20 minutes. Still didn't get my dynamite roll..... I also had to ask her for a side plate at a spoon for my daughter for her rice.... When I asked her for a plate, she rolled her eyes at me...... Then we asked for another bowl of rice which came out hard and cold ( again, the restaurant was not busy) We've always had amazing service here!!! So I went up to pay because my dynamite roll still didn't come and I was sick of having to look for her to pull her away from her fellow customers who she obviously knew... I went up to the till to pay for it and I said you forgot about my dynamite roll. She said oh sorry and handed me the bill.... I looked at her and said well. I guess I'm not getting dinner.... She said okay... Then I started to think it was a language barrier but her English was fine when she was taking our order. I gave her a sideways glance as disappointment and she looked past me, gave me my change and walked away..... That was very bad service and I will NOT be back. No matter who we are or what race we are, we are all paying customers. We should all be treated the same and I'm very disappointed with the way we...
Read morei will never order from here again..... about a year or two ago this my family ordered sushi from here & while ordering my dad made sure to express that i am vegetarian & would appreciate it a lot if they packaged mine separately & take the expected precautions needed when dealing with specific diet. everything was fine until i started eating & realized i was eating meat... i ordered a vegetarian role that was supposed to have deep fried tofu instead they put deep fried scallops may not seem like a big deal to some people but it was heart breaking for me & i wound up in the bathroom for the rest of the night trying to puke it up. my dad called & the only compensation they offered was giving us the correct dish which at that point i had no appetite & no longer trusted them.
today we decided to try them again because our favourite sushi place (sushi ami) was closed. my dad called to place the order & again explained probably 3 times that i was vegetarian & asked for them to please package separately. we brought the food home & they hadn't done that. i ordered veggie gyozas & my dad ordered pork. neither were labeled & they were both put in the same bag. which they are both quite similar & difficult to differentiate. so i gave them both to my dad because i didn't want to risk it keep in mind it would have taken 1 second to sharpie a v onto the container. when we called to explain what happened the women on the phone was very argumentative & not helpful she kept telling us that the veggie one would have a parsley leaf in the container but we explained it didn't & she just kept saying to look for it & arguing. i used to work in a restaurant so i hold a lot of sympathy for servers & such but these people have screwed up many times & just clearly give zero regard to my dietary restrictions which makes me wonder how they'd be if this was a life threatening allergy. will not be going back & if anyone is looking for a good sushi place i would recommend sushi ami as they alway package things separately & are very...
Read moreWe LOVE sushi, I was introduced to it as a very young child. In fact, it's my favourite food! It pains me to leave a three star rating but hear me out. The food is delicious, however, I am so disappointed of the changes I've seen over the last year or so at the Langley Willowbrook Drive location. It seems like this location is catering way too much to "westernizing" their restaurant and their over all way of presenting the food. I've noticed that they no longer use bento boxes even though the menu has a whole section on bento boxes. The "bento box" meals are now served on plates! complete with a fork on the side. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm no snob, if you can't use chopsticks or don't know how, who cares. A fork can always be requested, however, I go back to my point of "westernizing" a Japanese restaurant. Don't automatically bring a fork and please stop serving your "bento box" meals on plates. I've also noticed that since the bento boxes are no longer in boxes, you get less food as well. As someone who thoroughly enjoys sushi, this makes me sad. When I go to a Japanese restaurant, I'm looking forward to the whole experience of just that. Give me chopsticks (unless I request a fork), if I am ordering a bento box, serve it in a bento box and not on a plate! I have actually stopped going to this location because of all the changes I've seen. Thankfully, the last time I went to Sushi Mori's South Surrey ( White Rock) location, it was great!! The same delishious food, bento BOXES, chopsticks, you name it. It was a great experience and what I was looking for. Please, stop westernizing Japanese restaurants! Don't change your food or the way it's presented because chances are, people like myself who are wanting sushi ( especially dining in), are looking for the whole Japanese restaurant experience to go...
