Food is good, but I am not happy with how they manipulate with their coupons. I have come here twice with a 25% off coupon and both times they have refused to honour it. Let me be clear, that this restaurant sent us these coupons via mail. The terms on the coupon were clear and we met the criteria. We tried to use the coupon shortly after they just opened and was told that “it was already being “discounted,” via the banner advertising the discounted price they were advertising outside. Okay, well, then why are you sending out coupons for a discount off of your buffet? The waitress told us to save the coupon for when the discounted banner rate ended. And so we did exactly this.
We returned a month or two later after the banner outside advertising the cheaper rate was taken down and the “regular” pricing was in effect. When we presented the waitress with the coupon we were told that they were old coupons and were no longer being accepted, despite the fact that there was no date of expiry on the coupon and the previous waitress on our last visit actually instructed us to do just this. Save it and return with it on our next visit. Which is exactly what we did. We were told they have new coupons now. Our loss, again, I guess…
This restaurant uses deceptive practices with their coupons. So when we get them from now on, guess what? Straight into the garbage bin they will go. We live across the street and eat out regularly. We will visit Diamond Sweets moving forward. I’d also recommend visiting Indian Affair a few blocks away for a tasty Indian buffet lunch.
Disappointed with how the restaurant handled this. It was brought to the attention of our waitress who checked with her manager. Bait and switch, pure and simple. Think twice before you think about using a coupon here. If this is the reason you’re giving it a chance, maybe you might want to rethink...
Read moreI heard about Royal Chaska from social media and my husband and I decided to go and have dinner there. We drove 45 mins from North Vancouver to Langley on a Saturday evening. We arrived around 6:15 pm to a pretty quiet restaurant. We were excited to try this new restuarant. We started with the Pani Puri items which were good. We then moved on to the non- veg appetizers as I was so excited that they had the Fish Pakoras as those are my favourite. What a DISAPPOINTMENT! Every non veg appetizer was room temperature and tasted like it had been sitting there all day. I almost spat it out of my mouth. I asked the waitress that when they bring out the fresh ones if she could please bring some to us. She agreed. I then moved on to the Goat Curry and Mixed Veggie Curry. I asked for Naan as they serve these at the table. Well the naan took so long to come that I ate the Goat Curry and Mix Veggie Curry by itself. They served us one Naan cut into 4-5 small pieces for two of us. We had to keep asking for more and each time the pieces got smaller and the number of pieces went down to 3. I thought okay maybe dessert will be better. They had mentioned pastries on the phone when I had called to ask what was on their menu. There were no pastries. There were Costo muffins cut up which looked like they had been sitting there all day. The cake slices were okay and the ice cream had basic flavours. By the way, my fish pakora came as I finished my dessert.
All in all, we were totally disappointed with our meals. What a waste of time to travel so far to have such a horrible experience and even after expressing this to our waitress all she could say was sorry the kitchen was busy with take out orders. Excuse me, what about the dine in customers????? No discount...
Read moreI recently visited Royal Chaska Restaurant Buffet and had an experience that left me disappointed. I specifically tried the buffet chicken tikka, but unfortunately, it was dry and lacked the fresh taste I was expecting. The chicken pieces were overcooked and lacked moisture, which made the dish less enjoyable.
Another dish I tried was the goat curry, but I was surprised to find that it had hardly any meat pieces in it. It was mostly just curry with NO meat chunks. This lack of meat made the dish feel incomplete and unsatisfying.
To accompany my meal, I took rice, but even that turned out to be a disappointment. The rice was dry and didn't taste fresh. I brought this to the attention of the waitress and requested a fresh serving, but she informed me that there was a lot of rice, chicken tikka and no goat curry it wouldn't be refilled. I tried to explain that it was dry and of poor quality, but the staff didn't respond to my concern adequately. Before 3 pm even buffet not close and like this service I received for what I paid.
Overall, my experience at Royal Chaska Restaurant Buffet was below my expectations. The buffet chicken tikka was dry and lacked freshness, the goat curry was mostly curry with minimal meat, and the rice was dry and not of good quality. The lack of responsiveness from the staff when I raised my concerns further added to my disappointment. I hope the restaurant takes these issues into consideration and improves the quality of their dishes and...
