Gulf Island Seaplanes — Local services in Vancouver

I booked a 30-minute scenic seaplane flight over Vancouver in June 2025 during a weekend getaway. It was my first time flying on a seaplane, and I wanted to experience the city from above.

The check-in was smooth and staff were welcoming. The plane itself was small but clean, and we were given a short safety talk before boarding. Takeoff from the water was surprisingly smooth, and the views of the coastal mountains and city skyline were incredible!

The only downside was that the windows had some glare, which made photography tricky. Also, the seating is a bit tight, but manageable for a short flight. Most important is they don’t provide any guided tour or microphones, so you don’t know where and what you are seeing from above . Overall, it was an unforgettable way to see the coast and city. really amazing experience sibling takeoff and landing was beautiful and the views were absolutely stunning. We were in the air for 30 minutes. Our pilot Joe was really nice kind and really great pilot that made our experience a lot better. One thing I would suggest is during the flight. You can’t hear anything as you are wearing the noise, cancelling headphones, but I feel like there should be audio or something like a guided tour so we can know what we’re flying over. Very nice flight from Vancouver to Silva Bay. Punctual and organized. Courteous, friendly service. Comfortable waiting room. Ample luggage allowance. On a clear sunny day like I had, the views are spectacular. Don't expect plush seating - these very small single prop local planes are like a taxi service - but I did get to sit up front and pretend I was flying the plane.😊 Be aware that good mobility is needed to board across the floats and up the ladder, and headroom inside is limited in places.
