WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE & OWNER.
please note: this shop is not wheelchair or stroller accessible and the owner will be annoyed at you if you have one
I would've given this bakery a 4 star today if the lady at the counter wasn't so rude towards us. Zero stars for terrible customer service. If the lady was the owner, which I think she was, she should be very disappointed with herself.
There was no greeting, she didn't help us with any recommendations, or offer any assistance whatsoever. She gave us the cold shoulder from when we entered the shop, for no reason. She forgot to grab the slice of cake we ordered and had to ask her again. Very inattentive and clearly didn't care. I was so put off by her attitude I was too afraid to ask for napkins....she never provided any of that either. Considering, it's quite expensive for a slice of cake, aren't napkins a standard cost of doing business?
The lemon cheesecake and passion fruit coconut cake were OK.
We would've gone back to buy more, but not with that rude lady/owner. She gave off bad vibes. That's unfortunate considering it's my sisters birthday today.
We will NOT be returning and definitely NOT recommending. There are better bakeries in Vancouver with better customer service.
The doorway is extremely small and our stroller barely fit through it. It is not an accessible place for wheelchair access, or families with strollers.
Based on the owners very rude response below, I can guarantee you that we were the only customers at the time, it was not busy. After we were leaving, more customers came in but my stroller got jammed in the doorway and the nice customers NOT the owner, we're trying to help me.
I'm so sad that the owner feels the need to respond in this hatred manner. I really don't know why she is like that. She's owns a bake shop, shouldn't she be trying to keep customers instead of repelling them?
Judging by the owner lying about it being busy and me playing with my baby as a nuisance..(I was stuck in the doorway). She is disingenuous as a person. And someone who can't be trusted.
Typically, people apologize and take accountability. The owner clearly doesn't take responsibility.
After I wrote my honest review, I notice she is trying to bury this, just like all the other negative reviews. Please don't be fooled.
I hope this helps others on where to spend their hard earned money. She is...
Read moreEDIT & RESPONSE: BECAUSE THE BOX LOOKS IDENTICAL ON TOP AND BOTTOM there is no way to know which is which. I had much more shopping to do as I said, "You were my first stop." Please do not put your sticker on bottom of boxes. Or, write with a felt marker "T" on the top. As I shopped I was careful to keep the sticker on the top ...only it was upside down by the time I put it on my counter to open. No need to replace. Thank you. I tried. Not my preference. I added two stars. I was angry at the mess when I gave 1 star.
Original Review. Nice stuff. Probably worth the price. $6.25 for a single cheesecake serving. $4.25 for a tart.
They have high rent & ingredients are expensive not to mention labour. Speaking of LABOUR cost, it is a given to put the sticker ONLY ON THE TOP OF THE BOX not the BOTTOM as well!!!!
The tarts had poured out and dripped over the edge of the lid when I opened it. PLUS I will have the added joy of scraping the filling & the "cheesecake" whipped cream off the inside of the lid!! Such FUN!! It had been carried upside down because a sticker is normally only on the TOP of a bakery box. LITTLE THINGS make the biggest difference. I will not be having sweet thoughts about this bakery as I clean this mess. LATER: I've salvaged what I could & atw what was left of a tart & one individual sized oreo cheesecake.
I wouldn't use the term cheesecake. It's not. I prefer more cheese & less "cake topped with whipped cream." Unless I'm expecting cake with whipped cream. The many flavours of what are labeled individual cheesecake are a novelty but not something I'd return for. I suggest they concentrate on making the best REAL cheesecake & sell it for $6-$8 a slice with a choice of...
Read moreI called in yesterday at 1pm & ordered a birthday cake for my grandmother. The lady on the phone said there is three cakes left for me to choose from.… Oreo cake red velvet and coconut. I thought I’d lucked out and ordered the coconut cake, the lady highly recommended this cake! They asked for my credit card to hold the cake. I asked for them to write HB grandma on the cake but the lady said they will do the writing with chocolate on the small board. Upon arriving, I saw the cake that I ordered was nice but the HB wording truly a disappointment!! This cake was not cheap, at $42, you couldn’t do a better job?! Even Safeway could do better!!!! I asked the guy that served us if we could get the pistachio raspberry cake instead because it’s easier to write HB on and on top of that the lady on the phone said they weren’t baking any more cakes for the remainder of the day. The guy flat out said no I said the wording on the cake can be easily be removed. He said no again and told me to come back next time and order the raspberry cake!!! I really don’t think so after that display, lack of service with that attitude. WHY SHOULD I COME BACK? Do you think your bakery is the only bakery in town?! No customer service and not being able to accommodate a simple switch over?!? If the wording was on the cake permanently I can simply understand. You are forcing me to buy something that was done poorly which the cake is the highlight of my grandmothers dinner. By the way, the cake was not moist at all, the only thing that was holding the cake together from being extra dry was the butter cream! Few days old maybe? They lost me as a...
