Know by many in the foodie community Chef Steven hits another home run with his brand new pizza restaurant! He is known for opening Wild Flour Pizza in Burnaby. I am happy he chose to open another business, and this time in Vancouver proper!!
Located right beside Famous Foods on Kingsway is this creative culinary pizza joint. The variety of flavor for pizzas they have are abundant, and on top of that, they will be rotating different flavors in the near future. But lets talk about the delicious pizzas I ordered for me and my friends!! By the time I have brought the pizzas out of the car, you can still smell the pizza flavours in my car! The smell is so infectious!!
Filipino Breakfast: I really loved the flavour of this pizza! It is so innovative, and so different as in Vancouver we have never had such a wild of flavour of pizza! I truly was enjoying the second slice the most, as the sweetness and pickling style of the onions were just amazing. I did see the egg on the pizza but I didn't get a chance to eat that slice. I hope I get to nab that slice! 10/10
Chicken Tikka Masala: This was a fun flavor, but the pizza felt a little wet to me. It could be from the pizza condensation, but the flavour was just ok to me. I did love that the pizza is doused with so much cashews, and they were WHOLE NUTS. I gave it a second slice, and it was still just a meh flavour to me. I would kinda skip this, but that chicken was hella juicy. 6/10
Cumin Lamb: Okay Lamb, this was delicious! I loved the sauce they used for this pizza as a base. It was a creamy sauce I think, and it was delicious. I love that the onions are back and it gave this flavour level an upgrade! Woweeeee. I would recommend this as a pizza! 8/10
Fig Prosciutto: Like any other pizza that is Fig and Porsciutto, are we surprised this is on the menu though? Like any other pizza menu this is a staple for most pizza place. I did enjoy the flavour of the figs and the porsciutto combo. It was a fantastic flavour combo. I loved the balsamic flavour top up on the pizza. It really brought the whole piece together! I would recommend this pizza as well 8/10
We ordered 2 dips as well- Hot Honey & Ranch As usual, Steven has a fantastic Hot Honey dip, as it is one of my favourite staples of mine when Steven was at Wildflour! Will forever recommend the Hot Honey that Steven makes. And then the new Ranch they have was delicious! I enjoyed that as well with the Cumin Lamb pizza!!
Will for sure recommend the pizza place if you want a special and new twist on a pizza and for sure will be bringing a lot of pizzas to my parties and to celebrate a local chef within the scene...
Read moreCasual vibes with very limited seating, so I’d recommend ordering it to go. We tried their adventurous pizza’s - In Brussels and Filipino Breakfast, although they also have classic pizza’s and vegan options as well.
The In Brussels was a very busy pizza, having a great topping to crust ratio. I liked how they had chunks of brussel sprouts for better texture, rather than shredded. This is a great vegetarian option for those who like the salty sweet combination. I thought the nuttiness from the seeds and balsamic glaze was a nice touch adding great texture and flavour. The Filipino Breakfast was slightly lighter in terms of toppings. The longganisa (aka sausage) has a sweet marinade, similar to how most asian sausages taste and they had big chunks on the pizza. The pickled red onions and scallions did a good job of cutting through the sausage and cheese, which can be a rich combo together. However, I feel the game changer for this place is the sourdough crust. I’ve only been to a handful of sourdough pizza places and this one is my favourite. The sourdough flavour comes through to balance the heaviness that pizza has (although I wouldn’t come here for a “light snack”), it’s quite thin at the base, but the crust is fluffy and has a great bite. I feel we tend to underestimate the base of a pizza and this place makes that more obvious.
Overall, I’m a big fan of this place. Maybe not to dine in, but the choices are far from your typical pizza place, they’re generous with the toppings and the sourdough crust is the cherry on top. The pizza’s are more filling than it looks but if you have a big appetite, you could probably finish one yourself. Price is pretty standard to your typical pizza as well. I’m definitely coming back as there’s not many great pizza places in this...
Read moreEDIT: June 29, 2025 I just had their June special, the Sisig Pizza and OH MY GOODNESS! It's delicious! The flavour of the calamansi really shines through which helps cut through the richness of the pork and the sauce. The pizza has a nice touch of heat and the chicharon on top gives it a wonderful crunch. Crust was a bit on the soggy side but was still able to hold up to the toppings. I would definitely order it again.
I've always wanted to try this place ever since I heard that they have pizza with longganisa in it. Yesterday, they had a fund raiser, so I thought it would be the perfect time to try them out. I ordered the Filipino Breakfast and the Bianca. I also ordered their chili oil and hot honey.
Both pizzas were delicious. The crust is perfect. It wasn't too doughy or too chewy. The pizzas, especially the Filipino Breakfast looked as pretty as the pictures that I've seen online. The longganisa topping was generous and the flavour was on point. Usually with longganisa, there is a tendency for it to taste gamey or "malansa". This had none of that. It was just straight up delicious. I would have loved to have to sausages a little bit more caramelized though, but the pizza itself was amazing nonetheless. I part where the egg was, I had to eat with a knife and fork though. The garlic and the onions all added to the medley of flavours. I also drizzled mine with their chili oil. It's a perfect homage to Longsilog.
The Bianca was a hit with my parents who don't eat pork. Creamy cheese and the perfect crust! I enjoyed my slice drizzled with their hot honey which just had a mild heat to it.
I can't wait to try their other pizzas.
I definitely...
