One of the worst (and most expensive) dollar stores I've been to. It might be time to change the name of the store. The man at the counter was really unfriendly and seemed grumpy and annoyed.
One of the items I wanted to buy was this Christmas gift box. When I saw it on display, I opened it and saw there were 2 smaller boxes inside. All the other boxes on display were the same: 2 smaller boxes inside of a bigger one. So of course, that had me assume that it was sold as a 3-pack. The price on the outer box said $5.50 or something like that. I figured that was a good deal, so I grabbed it.
When he was ringing up my items, he told me the boxes are sold separately, not as a pack. Which is super misleading. If they were sold separately, then he should have stacked each size separately (by stacking the bottoms of the big boxes, then stacking the lids next to them, and repeat with the other sizes).
He asked if I wanted to buy all 3. I said I'd just stick with the medium-sized one, and I went to open the bigger box to grab the one I wanted....but he did NOT like that at all. He took the box from me and told me very sternly to not touch it, and that I needed to let him grab the box for me.
I was pretty annoyed. It was super rude, and I was trying to figure out why he didn't want me touching the boxes. Did he think I was diseased? But if he was so concerned about catching something from his customers, he'd be wearing a mask or have hand sanitizer at his counter, but I saw neither. Plus, he had no issue with me touching stuff when I was shopping. Or did he think I was going to try to steal them? So confusing.
After reading the other reviews, I realized that it wasn't anything I did.
I'm a pretty skinny person, and I had a hard time walking in the narrowest aisles I've ever seen. Anytime someone walked past me, I had to squish my body against the shelves to let them pass.
If you're a bigger person, you're going to have a difficult time getting through the aisles. If you use a wheelchair,...
Read moreSo dishonest and cheap that he would shortchange 50 cents. The total was a certain amount in dollars and 17 cents. But I heard it as 70 cents. So I paid the full amount in dollars then found my coin bag for 70 cents. The whole time the owner/cashier stood there saw me pulling out two 25cents and 2 dimes. He pocket all of it and didn't give me a receipt. I thought the amount for tax was slightly higher and did the conversion after leaving and indeed it was 17 and not 70. He could of at least give me back the correct change if I misheared it. So if next time I buy something for $15 and heard it as $50 and paid him, he probably would do the same. Pocket it and not give me the receipt. On top of that, when I was checking out items outside, he kept eyballing me about 3 times within a minute as if I'm about to ruin or steal his items. I was just checking the item before I buy to make sure there are no...
Read moreDo not ask any questions; the guy who usually sits there, whom I assume is the owner, will get irritated. I asked if they had Drano, and he responded very slowly, saying, "We had it... we don't have it... we will have it..." in an annoyed tone of voice.
I replied, "So, sold out." Then he said, "Why are you asking again?" This guy is miserable. This will be my last visit. I hardly go there anyway, as there are better...
