Pocket Clothing — Local services in Victoria

I have loved this store for a few years now, and I was excited to try to consign some clothes with them.

I brought in a few big bags of freshly cleaned, folded clothes. All in good condition and what I felt matched the store’s vibe (some I had even purchased from them years prior!). I was called over to the counter by a woman, who didn’t even say hi to me, and asked if I had 10-15 minutes to wait while she looked through my bags.

However, after 5 minutes of barely looking through my bags (and leaving them in a crumpled mess) I was told they would pass on everything because they were pretty full and it wasn’t what they were looking for. I felt very talked down to by this woman, and very unwelcome in her store.

I’ve never left a negative review before, as I’m a young person who’s worked retail for many years, and I have a lot of empathy for people just having a bad day. But this was a just very upsetting and condescending experience for me, especially for my first time trying to do something like this! If the store is full it would be nice if that was communicated on their website FAQ page, to avoid it being a waste of time, effort and gas money like it was for...

SUCH A WASTE OF TIME FOR SELLERS!!! I checked the reviews before going to Pocket and I was hoping the comments wouldn't be true, but they were. I brought three big bags of clothes, great pieces in great shape and the lady with dark hair was working and said "sorry but i'll have to pass, we're already really full and there's nothing in there that I don't already have" when she didn't even look at everything. If the case was that they're already so full, why didn't they mention that on the phone? They should atleast have a better system, than this horrible 'make an appointment' system where they will take a look for a minute and tell you that they will pass on your items. They don't even take the time to review every piece. All she did was peek inside the three bags. Also, I was there for 20 minutes before she even started looking. Honestly would give this place a 0 star rating if I could. I will NEVER go back and I would not reccomend this place at...

Hidden gem of a thrift store here in Victoria!!! Beautifully curated items that are just waiting to get picked up! You wont be disappointed.

The Staff here are friendly but not all up in your space and despite what others have written, I've brought in a few of my items and they've either paid me out on the spot or offered me store credit (which is what I almost always go for, lol) or taken nothing at all. It's a mixed bag with what they're looking for and mainly seasonal. Can't hold high expectations when you're trying to sell your used things!

They even take your items for donation to different non-profit organizations in town if you don't want anything back, very useful if you've come with like 4 giant tote bags, lol.

All in all, great little spot on a busy intersection with plenty of character and all the vibes. Highly...
