Cosmos Pizza & Pasta Pandora — Restaurant in Victoria

The most i usually only give any place is four stars because a restaurant should always be trying to improve but simce theres no 4.5 stars and this is my favourite place and apparently four stars would lower there overall rating and i love this place i cant do that they get 5! Very tasty pizza and very friendly sevice!

I just tried their donair so this is going to about my donair eperience I had. Best in city, but also dually note that there isn't much competition here for a good donair. Now Ive come to realize that everyone has a different idea of what traditional is especialty when it comes to "the donair". If one is from Halifax than the KOD or king of donairs would be considered the status quo whereas someone from Toronto would expect a garlic donair sauce opposed to the Halifax sweet sauce; someone from here might expect tzatki.

Working in the restaurant industry or customer service industry im generlly a pretty tough critic everywhere i go. Being from Halifax and of lebanese descent my donair pallet is particularily picky. Cosmos falls a little short of traditional but kills it in flavour. The sauce was a very tatsy Garlic sweet sauce, kind of incorporatimg the best of both worlds; Toronto garlic vs Halifax sweet. Sauce was nice and thick to didnt run everywhere... Although I still managed to cover myself in it and had to ask for napkins several times which the lady was happy to accomodate. The meat was made in house very tender, flavourful with savoury rosemary. The flavour was bang on what you would expect from a donair shop in the height of their game. However the meat was quite thick not like the traditional thinly sliced spindal meat as depicted im the picture. I would perfer it sliced thinner however so good i dont give a slice. Bread was soft yet firm enough to hold saanwich together snd was quite good just on its own. You woulnt normally catch me eating just the bread of nything while im already quite full. The donair was finishd being topped with lettuce and tomatoes. I think this could improve with finer shredded lettcue and diced tomatoes as opposed to sliced circular ones. Also an option for diced onions... Wait was there onions... Yes there were not diced though. Diced suits a donair I believe. Besides the small setback of my preferences the flavour and price was fantasic.

Everything here is great value; good price vs quantity/flavour. Very friendly service makes it all the better. I think when i had only eaten there 2-3 times i was short $2 for pop. Many places could have just not given me my barqs which woulda been a major setback in my perferrable flavour combination with pizza. Cosmos said i remember you your good customer hit us next time. I made sure to pay them within a day or two. In a world of corporate business its nice to find a neighborly joint with a sense of community. A seperste occasion i asked to borrow a loonie for the bus which they lent me without much questioning and i paid them next day. I am very appreciated of this and hope that people reading this dont hound them for loans lol. Thank you cosmos for your yummy food and fine service... Oh I forgot to add something but maybe i shouldnt it might come off racist.. Im sure u guys will get where im coming from.. Well their asian and whenever a dfferent ethnicity does a great job pulling off a different cultures food so fantasticly they deserve...

Update/Edit: OCT 2024 - One ⭐ ...I can no longer recommend Cosmos Pizza (Pandora). I waited a few orders before this review but ....Cosmos now may the worst pizza place in Victoria - previously the best IMO. You are paying more, mediums resemble a small and large looks more like a medium. Flavour is GONE.

Their OG zesty pizza sauce = now is tasteless, thinly applied with cheese volume far below required on pizza. Once chunky toppings are now diced to fine, unrecognizable particles camouflaged into the thin veil of whatever salt-less white material they claim as mozza. I've added a photo of our 'medium' - one Ham & Pineapple and one cheese. Can you tell the diff? I miss the old Cosmos.

Old Review: (The timing did improve so it's no longer relevant)The best pizza but never ready when they say. '25 minutes' over the phone, but they don't actually put the pizza in until you get there to pick it up. Which, if you're not willing to risk a customer no-show makes $ sen

You pay, tip,THEN they tell you '10 minutes' Except then 10 minutes turns into 15. The pizza is so good, so just tell me it's going to...

Cosmos is under new management with a new menu - aka more expensive for the same not so great food and now they don't offer free delivery anymore nor offer the two for one pizza anymore - and do you notice the response from the new owner is cut and pasted because it's the same response to everything. We ordered a lot with these guys and spent a lot of money in this place if they looked at our history but not anymore! I only live 3 blocks away and I do understand the delivery charge but come on - to go two blocks for a customer who has a long history with the place? I should get at least one free delivery - only costs them $3.00. SMILE Good luck to them - there reputation in this area is no longer! And I doubt the food has significantly improved! I am not willing to take that chance given the bad quality of the last order. I do with them the best of luck in making...
