We had the pleasure of hosting my husband’s 70th birthday at Kitchen Sync. The venue was exactly what we were looking for as we wanted a ‘speak easy’ vibe. Our concerns for safety in this downtown neighbourhood were a non-issue. Sheila and her team were extremely accommodating with all of our requests including moving a beloved plant to make room for our balloon decor. The only item which could have been addressed was that the lighting was a bit bright , which was partially our fault. This venue is one of the best in Winnipeg for a gathering of 60 or fewer people. Sheila Bennet, the owner, is gracious and accommodating. The space, layout, and furniture can be configured in many ways to enhance many different kinds of events. Sheila's communication is clear and timely. I’m happy to see all the nice reviews and I feel very bad to have to do this but the truth is, I spoke to someone who was very very rude and dismissive to me. Having gone through the reviews, I did notice someone who felt Sheila was being racist to her because the caterer was Filipino and this made me understand that the reason she was almost hanging up on me before hearing me out was because I had an accent.
