East Ocean Restaurant — Restaurant in Winnipeg

I’ve been going to East Ocean since the previous owners. That’s Ty Lee’s. the food has and is always great. It’s one of the few restaurants which has never been closed after inspection unlike some of the larger ones. Eaten there over 27 years. They had an older guy very friendly and also a lady who alternate shifts very efficient. Yesterday. I met up a new lady working. In fact this one I should refer to as a new con artist working. Since she is the one translating to the owner everything. Whatever price that’s on the menu she says 50 cents more for everything. I checked the menu and told her why wasn’t the prices changed when they remade the menus. She realized I’ve been there before. I used to go at least once a week but I moved. She said she’s been working there for 2 years but anything you ask for she does as if she doesn’t know. Yes Al Wiebe. What she tries to do is add on an extra ten dollars for her tip in my case She is going to cause the owners customers to run. She’s stealing from the customer. I’ll never go back. I usually give a $2.00 extra to the other two when I’m taking out but this one will put the wrong price and add up wrong if you don’t add up yourself and ordering trying to confuse the customer. my family and I have been craving chinese food last week so decided to order take out. i ordered 4dishes with a total of over $70 including a tip. note that im not a regular customer, i just tried going there for the first time as it was recommended by a coworker who frequents the place. when i got home, the seafood dish i ordered was missing, instead, it was a dish of sauteed bean sprouts. i didnt check the order before i left the restaurant as i find it disrespectful to the staff and owner and i was fully confident that they wont mess my orders. and it would be a waste of time to go back there to show the inaccuracy of my order plus we were already starving. next time please dont try to rob your customers, we deserve to have the correct and accurate order that we paid for. never going back to...

This was our pre Jets game meal the other night on my partner's friend's recommendation. Let me tell you, it was delcious! The food was amazing. We had breaded shrimp, spicy orange chicken, chicken balls, and a beef mix veggie sizzler dish. All were large portions, hot at the table, and all great tasting. Each plate was around 15 bucks, but again, you get ALOT of food with it; between the three of us, there was quite a bit of leftovers. The lady that helped us was gem, and I can't wait to go back and spend a proper time there to really enjoy the food, maybe with a larger group, so we can try even more dishes! 😀 Don't let the outside of the building fool you, this place...
