Anytime Fitness — Local services in Hong Kong

One-star because it's a disingenuous business. To be clear, I don't have anything against Anytime Fitness (the franchise), I've tried it in Canada before and it a decent experience. I've been gym hopping in HK over the summer looking for a place that I can go to consistently so there's a decent sample size for comparison.

Here's my experience: I signed up for a 7-day trial online (see screenshot) on their website but the email I received says it's a one day pass. When my friends and I went for the trial, they also gave me a one-day pass. When we asked about the 7-day trial, they shrugged it off a mistake on their website and they'll fix it. We expressed our displeasure but they ignored it. But it's clear if you run a promotion online, stating clearly it's a 7-day pass, then why are you not honouring it? If you can't run an honest promotion, what makes anyone think this is an honest establishment?

As for the gym itself. A decent-sized gym by HK standards that has the basics for a workout. Missing some staples you would expect of a gym. My friends and I noted a "salty fish" odour. We went during peak hour and there were...

I have the international membership, which uses the same access token for all gyms globally and I've never had an issue.

I like to train early, so had the whole facility to myself.

This Anytime has a strong range of equipment, including a guided squat machine as well as shoulder fly. 2 machines I don't see in many facilities.

Smith press and 2 racks, plenty of cardio machines and a cross fit style area/structure.

It doesnt have that quad machine setup that many of the Anytime's have, but they have all the machines individually such as lat pull down, and adjustable cables.

Staff here are not as good as staff in other branches. I opened account here so have to close one day. I emailed the staff if I can sign the withdral form on email and send to him/her, as I do not want to go there physically during pandemic. The staff said I can only cancel by visiting the office. SERIOUSLY?? So I went and passed the dealine by one day and got charged another 1 full month of fees. I went to other shops in Jordan too. I had the same issue, cancelling one day late. The owener of Jordan did not charged me additional 1month. Will still go to Anytime fitness chain stores, but will avoid bad branches going forward....Be careful before deciding which branch...
