I have been thinking to post it or not as the food was OK and I work in the industry myself. But thinking back about the experience it makes me feel upset again.
Maybe it is because we look like we are no quality guests after going to the kayak or because bring a dog to the place?
We just came after a great day of kayaking at Hoi ha Wan and were looking for a nice upscale dinner. Knowing around Sai Kung they generally have overpriced tourist seafood restaurants and average places we picked bones and blades as I had a positive previous experience there priorly.
My friend who is a hotel bar manager and me who works in a steakhouse obviously had higher expectations after me telling them my previous experience there was good.
We came in, the waitress walked out of the hostess side to go to the kitchen though I am sure she saw us. We asked if it was OK to bring a dog, which was only allowed outside. To which my friend had to walk around, though I understand, the dog was in a zipped carry bag and didn't bark any single time since we came in. If i did not mention about the dog she wouldn't even have realized.
Once we were outside we were offered the menu. The steaks as ordered medium rare and medium. My steak after cutting the biggest part was medium rare, but my friends wasn't medium, rather medium well.
The whole point of me writing this review was the waitress attitude. Rudely dropping the cutleries, making a problem out of the dog sitting on the bench though there was nobody outside and the dog didn't make any fuss. The cutleries being served and dumped as well as the food. The wine being forgotten and then the double espresso being forgotten.
After asking the waitress why she was so rude throughout the dinner she explained she fell before and hurt herself. Her boss told her to keep working. I understand everyone can have a bad day, and I would feel sorry for someone working in F&B that they had an accident and were unable to work, but if your boss forced you to work, you should sick leave. I pay the same amount for the meal as anyone else, why I deserve the bad attitude because of what happened before.
I cannot imagine, working myself as a grill manager someone else doing the same to me and my staff responding to that.
The overall experience, yes the food was OK, I would say it's fair, but wouldn't come back due to the very rude waitress. No apologies, interrupting the customer who is explaining, with her own problem. Sorry for me it doesn't work like this. I hardly post, but if I get treated like this I do and will recommend my friends...
Read moreIf you're a fan of steak sandwiches, I highly recommend checking out this amazing restaurant that specializes in this classic Philly dish. The restaurant uses only the finest, highest-quality Wagyu beef to make their sandwiches, which gives them an unbeatable flavor and texture that you won't find anywhere else.
From the moment you walk into the restaurant, you'll be greeted by a warm and casual atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The staff is siper friendly and knowledgeable, and they're always happy to help you choose the perfect sandwich.
The philly cheese steak sandwich is the best I've ever had. The Wagyu beef is cooked to perfection and sliced thin, making each bite incredibly tender and juicy. The homemade bread is toasted just right, and the sandwich is served with all the classic Philly toppings, including sautéed onions, peppers, and melted...
Read moreThis review is for Bones & Blades Discovery Bay branch : a new addition to Discovery Bay dinning option with a meat based menu and a good choice of set lunches. We tried a couple times, the food was average at best and the quality variable. The burgers for example were tiny, home made grilled sausages and sweet potato fries were nice, steaks depended on luck and lamb chops far too fatty that should not be served. The restaurant is small and always packed by the entrance of a mall that does not allow for relaxed dining, and unfortunately neither helps to elevate the dinning experience of...
