Feeling a cup of coffee and something sweet to wake myself up. So we ordered a bacon & scambled egg bagel and a banana & nutella croffle to share. For drinks, I picked hot latte and my friend picked irish coffee. The staff said 'Enjoy, have a great day' every time they brought a food item to our table, what a heartwarming act!
The bagel came first. Apart from bacon and scrambled wgg, it also sandwiched some green lettuces which made it less greasy to eat. Quite refreshing, not heavy at all. Bagel's texture was just perfect, wasn't too chewy or crispy. Everything's on point and well balanced.
My coffee came with a cute latte art. It was silky and smooth, more on nutty side. Not a perfect one that made me WOW, but it wasn't bad!
Banana & nutella croffle came last. It was served with a large scoop of chocolate ice cream and nutella syrup on side. Portion was generous, they give 2 large pieces of croffle while many other cafes usually just give one! Croffles were buttery and nicely baked, crispy on the outside and chewy inside. It was a dessert that could definitely fill you up so better to share with friends!
Overall, this is a cafe with great food, nice service, reasonable price and relaxing...
Read moreA nice cafe in the Sai Ying Pun area. They also have outdoor seating as well. They serve various cafe style food like burgers, pastas and all day breakfasts. But if you come at lunch, they have a lunch set deal which includes a soup and Ameriano or Earl Gray tea or half price on other drinks. Lots of coffee choices including coffee cocktails and mocktails that are worth a try. Loved the Black and Yellow mocktail. An espresso with pineapple juice which gave it a really good refreshing taste perfect for a hot summer day. We tried the crab angus burger which was juicy, well seasoned and topped with a load of crab meat. The matcha red bean croffle was a nice shareable sweet dessert. English menu only. Staff speak good English. And it's just across the street from the Sai Ying Pun MTR station. Note they do have an $80 per person minimum charge during peak lunch time and they have a dine in time limit. 1 hour for drinks only and 2 hours for food and drinks. They only enforce it if there are people waiting...
Read moreThe food and drinks are great, and not too pricey. However, the service can be more accommodating as we took a seat first (outside seating) but was then asked to get up to wait. Another pair of customers (seemingly tourists) decided to order at the counter despite QR codes on each table. Once they saw us, they asked a waiter to tell us to move. The waiter was not any more friendly afterwards as if it was our fault. There were no apologies as we were told they paid first, which I don't think is the usual system. In the F&B industry, it is quite sensitive to ask customers to move when there was in fact unoccupied seating outside. On the same day, they didn't give us the correct change and made no comments. We have been here many times as we live in the area and this is perhaps our favourite cafe, so this was disappointing. Looking forward to a renewed sense of service from this...
