Huge chaos and disorder. I do understand the average service level in local restaurants, so I am giving a low rating not because of the bad (or no) service.
We waited for 30+ minutes after ordering and got nothing, and meanwhile the nearby tables got dishes delivered timely even though they came later than us. It is abnormal for dim sum dishes to take so long, so we called out to a few waiters but got no followup - one waiter said “wait for a while” and never came back, while another waitress just silently walked away after hearing the issue. We thought she would check and come back but she never. We do speak local language so it was not a communication issue.
Finally my partner cried and drew some attention from the staff. They came back to us and told us the cashier made a mistake and all the food was delivered to another table. They then took some of the not-warm-anymore dishes from that table to us, while the other dishes have already been consumed by the guests at that table, so they started to cook again.
We finally called out the manager after a few attempts and waiting, who agreed to let us leave. We didn’t pay but we didn’t eat anything either. By the time we leave, they still haven’t delivered everything, and it was already one and half hours after we ordered.
One star due to the unpleasant experience. One extra star to one waitress, an old lady who tried to comfort my partner and helped us find the manager. Her service was way beyond the average level of service in...

Firstly, the place (especially the entrance) smelled like a fish tank - mildly acceptable if food and service had been decent.
Next, I was dining alone, so the restaurant wasn't even crowded, yet the male manager showed me to a table near the toilet - totally unacceptable as there was plenty of space elsewhere. Of course I told them no, I didn't want to sit near the loo, please put me near the window which they did, but it sucked that I had to tell them, and this was the biggest factor in my review.
Thirdly, cleanliness - thumbs down. Tablecloth had food bits and sauce on it. Again, mildly excusable if everything else was great. Unfortunately, didn't complain as I was alone, and didn't want my food to get "special treatment" from the kitchen. Yes, that's how uneasy I was (but I was hungry, and still hoping the food would be good). Initially considering dimsum sides with my meal but decided not to as things really weren't inspiring confidence.
Finally, the food - I ordered goose and rice which was extremely mediocre; very fatty, anaemic, bony, lacked flavour and not worth the calories or time. Inedible if not for the plum sauce.
And before anyone asks why I ordered goose in a seafood restaurant.. check out their yellow signboard that had "star seafood and ROASTED GOOSE restaurant"...
Read moreObviously very popular judging by the over 1 hour wait for a table. However, the wait for food was even longer - we ordered 5 dishes including steamed, fried and braised. After more than 1 hour, having had the cheung fan, the char siu bao and baked pork buns, we decided to forego the braised chicken feet and pork spare ribs and left as there was no sign of these on the horizon. I'm also sure the air conditioning was turned off at about 1.30pm because I was sweating like crazy and many others, including those in the queue were fanning themselves and up until then, the a/c was quite good. Although very popular, I'm sure there are better yum cha places (in fact I know that there are better yum cha places) in HK - maybe they're a bit complacent because of their success...?????? Try...
