During my first day in HK arriving drom Shenzhen, one lady in MTR Lo Wu cashier told me that MK is kind of center of HK, and therefore I picked it as my first are to explore and got off the train. So I went there to MK and I walked all the way to TST. MK area was one of first places creating my first impression about the city. At that point I haven't really understood how strategic the whole MTR system is for the city, and I also didn't understand that MK is really kind of the center of HK, or at least of Kowloon. The station itself is well organised, especially when transferring from green line into red line or vice versa, it's mostly quick and walk distances are short. Station also has a toilet inside of the paid area. I like the simplicity and technical minimalism of design and also of the info displays and schemes with information about the train lines. No idea who designed it but it could be definitely inspiring for many other companies in CN and worldwide. I would appreciate if there are less commercial billboards and posters, respectively if half of it would be exposing some content related to social issues, arts, protection or nature, geography, science, instructions how to use toilets etc. Sometimes trains are too packed with passengers but I guess the station is not inflatable and they built it when HK had like around half of today's population, so it's understandable. Hope to see some more escalators added to all entrances.

Mongkok Station is the transit between Kwun Tong and Tsuen Wan lines of MTR If your a traveler you missed 1/4 of your life if you didn't visited this popular place. This station is crowded and restrooms kinda difficult. Long walked here and there, and if it happens you got mistake instead of right or left , go or up you need to pay for your octopus card again.Presence of mind here as a tourist. Going out of this station the best part is the Ladies market saturated with stalls selling Hongkong souvenirs, handicrafts , stylish clothing , gadgets and traditional clothing. Such a nice tourist experience but so hot as well and take note OUTSIDE NO restroom, you need to go inside restaurant to use it however, majority don't have.To be safety go Mc Donald. Here you'll find the hottest styles which is rare and probably doesn't have to your country ,limited edition is the one. If you are sneaker addict Go and get ready for your shopping. Everybody speak English and you must bargain. Highly recommended!! 555

Difficult to find people who speak English, over crowded shopping area, looks like Ranganathan Street in T.Nagar Chennai, if you know what I am talking about. Station is maintained good for the crowd that passes every day, automated ticket counters which accepts HK$ and Octopus Card. There is a small currency exchange where US$ can be exchanged at a standard rate of 7.5HK$ per US$ (Jan 2018). The person didn't speak at all, just showed in calculator, gave the amount went on to attend next Customer.

Mongkok Station seems to be busy at all times, as it is always crowded with people here for its fusillade of attractions nearby due to its great accessibility, serving as a transit hotspot between Kowloon and Hong Kong Island, and vice versa. The station is well-equipped with up-to-date facilities, with friendly staffs and MTR workers stationed within the area assuring the order and the well-being of passengers are maintained in this enclosure. Trains running on the Tsuen Wan and Kwun Tong lines do arrive the station punctually, and its overall environment and cleanliness are decent and rather...
