The Himalayan House delivers standout Nepalese-Indian cooking with warm, attentive service and a relaxed, cozy dining room. Momos arrive delicate and generously filled, curries are layered and aromatic rather than oily, and staples like biryani and garlic naan land hot and fresh, making every course feel crafted rather than routine. Vegetarian choices are plentiful, spice levels are tailored on request, and the pace of service keeps things smooth even when it’s busy.
Signature plates elevate the experience: the cheese naan is soft, blistered, and amply stuffed, while the Nepali Thakali set thali balances dal, pickles, vegetable sides, and mains for a complete, comforting meal. Small touches—neatly plated chutneys, piping-hot tea and lassi, and thoughtful pairing suggestions—turn a good dinner into a memorable one. A handy mini bar with chilled beers adds to the convivial vibe and pairs perfectly with the spice profile.
Value feels fair for the quality and consistency, and the convenient location makes it an easy pick before or after exploring the city. Whether for families, small groups, or a casual date, it’s the kind of place that quickly becomes a favorite: soulful momos, robust curries, friendly faces, and a dining room that feels like a welcome pause. Five stars—for honest flavors, genuine hospitality, and signatures worth...
Read moreHimalayan House is a good place for Nepalese and Indian food on the Macau Peninsula. They recently moved from their original place on Rua Cinco de Outubro to a few blocks further south off Rua da Felicidade. Opening hours are around 12pm to 12.30am daily.
We had a pretty good dinner here recently. On this occasion we had the Chicken Tikka Masala. Chicken tasted fine and curry mild and good flavour. Josh Rogan was better, lamb was flavoured with the curry. Garlic Naan was a nice serving size and tasted as expected. Kashmiri Biryani was also fine. Masala tea similarly tasted as expected.
Seating area is larger than their old restaurant, decor looks nice. Service was friendly and timely. Overall, a good priced South Asian meal. Curry flavours are a bit tempered but we liked what was served. Would consider eating here again during future...

I will not be going back...
