The Taipa Grande Trail is a loop trail that circles the mountainside just east of Taipa Village. It is most easily accessible by way of the Taipa Grande National Park to the east as well as the Inclined Elevator of the Hill of Taipa Grande in the southwest.
A convenient place to start the Taipa Grande Trail is at the Taipa Viewing Platform near the southwest corner of the mountain. There are outstanding views of Taipa Village and the properties along the Cotai Strip to enjoy at the Viewing Platform before starting the hike.
This trail has two routes. The first and more interesting is the full 4km loop trail that is mostly flat and easy. The trail goes through forested area and includes lots of shade. Most importantly, there are really good viewpoints along the way. You will pass through the Taipa Grande National Park and a small Camellia Garden as well.
The second is a shorter but steeper inner loop that starts at the Viewing Platform and reconnects with the Taipa Grande Trail to the north after reaching the highest point (159.2 meters) on the Taipa mountain. This is a more challenging climb but not overly difficult.
Note: There are direction signs posted throughout the trail and occasional maps with markers to help you understand where you are along the way.
Note: Although this trail is relatively easy, it is best to wear proper footwear and to bring water with you, especially if you want to hike this trail on hot...
