Konzum — Local services in Grad Hvar

The only reason I have given 2 stars and not 1 star is because the prices are probably the cheapest you’ll find for things like bottled drinks. However, upon entering the store there is a rude security guard who will demand that you leave your backpack on a peg by the door where anyone could take it without you seeing. It seems he picks and chooses who to police because there were plenty of other people walking around with rucksacks on. So my partner waited outside the store because we weren’t prepared to leave our belongings unattended. He also told me I wasn’t allowed in unless I put a shirt on, even though I was clearly wearing a vest and denim shorts, not swimwear? It was 33 degrees so I think wearing a vest is fair enough. Luckily I happened to have a shirt in my bag, but if not then I wouldn’t have been allowed to enter because my top did not meet his standards. This is ironic because immediately in front of me there were other people wearing bathing suits with their chests, shoulders, and backs exposed, and nothing was said to them about it. Equally, there were other women in tops smaller than mine, who he turned a blind eye to. It would make me think twice about going back to this Konzum, I would rather use the local market or a smaller supermarket with higher prices that doesn’t force you to leave your belongings at the door and doesn’t police...

Largest supermarket in Hvar Town. Has most things you would need from fruit and veg to deli items and bakery. Good selection of wines and spirits.

The fruit and veg is often worse for wear, looking old and unappealing. Also the guy that works in that section always has his mask around his chin, that lack of attention to detail and discipline is probably why the fruit and veg not very good.

Many of the staff also wear their masks under their noses.

Tommy is a better choice for quality fruit and veg.

Location on the map is wrong, costumer service terrible. Me and a few people entered wearing top part of out bathing suit as we wer just coming from the beach. A girl with dark hair who works there approches and was very rude about saying to leave the store because we dont have a shirt. I refused because of the way she acted, extremely rude.
