On the eve of our wedding, weary from travel and an underwhelming hotel experience elsewhere, we arrived at Palace Elizabeth—and immediately exhaled. Within moments, we were met with handwritten congratulations, fresh flowers in our suite, and a sense of grace and calm that washed over us like the island breeze itself. In a world of polished but forgettable luxury, Palace Elizabeth doesn’t just shine—it glows.

What sets this hotel apart isn’t just its centuries-old grandeur or the cinematic views of Hvar’s harbor—it’s the people. Sonja welcomed us with both precision and warmth, somehow handling last-minute requests with the poise of a lifelong friend. Tea and Eva elevated the stay with their breadth of knowledge and professionalism, grounding us with every thoughtful recommendation. And Victoria, with her gentle presence in the quiet hours, reminded us that true luxury lies in empathy. These are not simply staff—they are the soul of the experience.

Our suite was a masterclass in refined design: stately yet serene, with plush linens, luxurious restrooms, and sunlight that danced across original stonework. Housekeeping was swift and seamless, the bed a sanctuary of calm. Before the ceremony, I gathered my groomsmen for cocktails, unforgettable cuisine, and even a spontaneous group meditation session—an unexpected, perfect moment made possible by the energy of this space. The room, the service, the stillness—it all whispered one word: Pomalo.

To the team who made our most important days so beautifully calm: Hvala vam od srca. Vaša ljubaznost, toplina i posvećenost učinili su naš boravak nezaboravnim. Ne samo da ste nas ugostili—učinili ste da se osjećamo kao kod kuće. In every detail, Palace Elizabeth embodies the future of luxury travel: thoughtful, rooted, and...

I typically do not find myself leaving reviews, but after my trip, I knew I needed to. Everything about this hotel screams luxury! My mom and I spent 4 nights at the Palace Elisabeth for a mother-daughter trip, and we were blown away. By reading reviews prior to our stay, we were excited, but this hotel is one you must experience! My words are not enough to describe how much we loved our stay. From the moment you step onto the island, you are greeted by the staff as a member of their family.

The rooms were spotless and included a turndown service with little goods from the island each day. Every little detail was perfect. Our balcony was, of course, the highlight of our room. It had a beautiful view of the Harbour and the restaurant/terrace below, where we found ourselves spending most of our evenings and time.

Relationships are personal with the hotel staff. Breakfast was the highlight of our day, as we found ourselves not wanting to leave. There was everything you could ever want: delicious coffee, an a la carte menu with everything you could imagine, pastries, smoothies, and complete with champagne! Milan was kind and attentive, going above and beyond each day of our stay. Coming to the island we had ideas of how we wanted to spend our time, but the concierge, Angela, gave us the best advice! She set up several tours for us to visit many islands, the blue caves, and a winery. Each tour was perfect for us! She gave us many restaurant recommendations and advised us on better options than some I may have chose otherwise.

I cannot say enough great things about our stay, and we hope to be back very soon. I have found a new favorite hotel as well as place to visit. We are very...

I hate to leave a poor review, but my experience at Palace Elizabeth was one of the WORST experiences I’ve had with a hotel, especially one that is apparently a 5 star resort.

My wife and I are on our honeymoon and Hvar was one of our last stops after a long euro trip in Paris and Switzerland. We had pre scheduled a yacht to boat around the islands. Unfortunately, there was increment weather and we were forced to cancel/reschedule. The concierge helped and told me she reserved us a space for after the weather clears.

The hotel never sent a confirmation for the booking. Didn’t tell us the price nor the time to go out. When we followed up the day before to learn more information, they responded with details that didn’t make sense for our travels (both time and cost) and then told us we couldn’t cancel.

On one of the last days of honeymoon, the reception and concierge told us to wait at the spa for their GM. We waited all day. When the GM finally came 3 hours later we discussed the situation and told them they never sent any confirmations. She told us she would talk to her colleagues and come back to discuss with us before we left for the ferry.

The GM or hotel never came back to talk to us, instead they went ahead and charged our CC without authorization after our final bill was already paid. We have now sent the hotel THREE emails without response.

The hotel actually charged our CC without authorization, without confirmation of any booking, and then has ghosted us. $1400!!!

Crazy! The hotel is located in center city, but you can find many other hotels to stay out rather than...

Palace Elisabeth is the best hotel that we stayed at in Croatia, and is on par with what you would expect for "luxury" in London or New York. The staff were excellent, and very attentive, with turn down service, and pre-engagement of our needs. Each night we were rewarded with a new bedside treat, and there is no-charge minibar. The room had a view of the adjacent square and the sea, and in spite of adjacent Friday night festivities was extremely quiet. The only complaint is that the curtains are not blackout and let in a lot of light. That was remedied by storm shutters on the juliet balcony, which not intended for that purpose performed very well. The hotel is equipped with a semi-indoor pool with terrace overlooking the sea, a sauna, steam room, and spa treatments for an additional fee. There is an indoor/outdoor restaurant that serves an excellent included breakfast, but was oddly empty for dinner on the nights we were there. One note for those balancing different accommodations in Hvar is that you do not need "beachfront" hotels. All beaches and waterfront in Croatia are by definition public, so there are no "private" beaches in the traditional sense. There are multiple excellent swimming areas within a 5-10 minute walk of the Palace Elisabeth, and you can ask the staff for beach towels and bags.

This is a truly lovely hotel with great staff. It is not possible to drive up to the hotel but you are met by a small golf cart to collect your luggage. The hotel faces the harbour and has great sea views. The reception staff were very helpful. We arrived before 3pm but were kindly helped to access our room an hour early. There is a lift and stairs. Our room was very comfortable and has an evening turn down service.
