I felt compelled to respond after reading your reply to my friend’s review. I was also staying in the room upstairs at the time, and I personally witnessed the situation that led to the original comment.

We had a ferry at 11:15 that morning and went for an early run. Upon returning to our room, we noticed there was no water and immediately messaged you. We did not display any negative attitude towards you regarding this issue, as we knew the water outage was beyond your control. While waiting for the water to return, we decided to grab a coffee nearby. During that time, we continued to stay in touch with you. As we had discussed, instead of going to the place you suggested for a shower, we decided to wait and see if the water would return in time. If not, we would simply skip the shower before our ferry. Honestly, it’s strange to even have to explain these details, but the point is that you were aware we were not in the room but waiting for the water nearby.

Most importantly, it was entirely inappropriate to enter our room without informing us. If you had reached out, we would have asked you to wait another hour. When we returned, my friend told me that you mentioned the air conditioning could be repaired, while he is in the shower. Don’t you find that a bit odd?

We have stayed in many hotels, and we know that for a one-night stay, rooms are not cleaned before the guest checks out. Housekeeping begins after the room is vacated, right? So naturally, we felt free to leave our belongings in the room as we saw fit, assuming no staff would enter before we left. Rather than assuming we had already packed, it would have been much better if, during our ongoing communication, you had simply told us someone would be entering the room, none of this would have happened.

As for our swimsuit—whether it was on the room’s private outdoor chair or inside—it is not acceptable for it to be moved by anyone else. And why would anyone on the street move a personal item that clearly belongs to someone else?

Lastly, I would like to address your mention of “high expectations.” Since we were arriving from Korčula on a 6 a.m. ferry, we simply asked if we could drop off our luggage. You said you couldn’t accept luggage before 10 a.m., and we respected that without complaint.

You failed to satisfy two otherwise very easygoing and polite guests—not because of our expectations, but due to a breach of trust and poor communication. I found your response manipulative, and that’s why I felt the need to clarify the situation.

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding a serious incident that occurred during my recent stay at a property I booked through your platform.

While I was outside the accommodation, a man who claimed to be the property owner was found at my room door, which was open. Alongside him was another individual who claimed to be an air conditioning repair technician. They informed me that the A/C was not functioning properly and that they had already entered my room without my prior consent or any form of notification.

All of my personal belongings were inside the room at the time. This unauthorized entry is a serious breach of my privacy and trust. To make matters worse, when I returned and expressed that I needed to use the shower, they insisted that I should do so while they continued working inside the room. This was extremely uncomfortable and inappropriate.

Additionally, I had left some swimming wear outside the door to dry. I later noticed that they had been moved from one chair to another, meaning someone had touched my personal clothing without my permission. I find this completely unacceptable. We had such a lovely stay at Kampanel. The host and his son were so helpful– they gave us a full overview of Hvar town and told us where to go to enjoy the city like locals.
