We visited in May 2025. We took the Hestur Cave Boat Tour. This was our favorite boat trip by far in the Faroe Islands. The tour starts at the Gamlarætt Ferry Port which is a short ride from Torshavn. We parked along the water. There isn't a parking lot so just park near where you can without blocking any access. Leave everything in your car as you only need your keys and camera. We were outfitted with waterproof full body suits, helmets, and gloves. Your shoes will be splashed so make sure they are protected. The rib boat sits two by two. The seats looked like as if you are riding a horse with some bars to hold on to. The closer to the front, the more you will buck. We were the last ones on the boat, so we got the bench seating in the back behind the captain. I feel like these were the best seats on the boat. The captain talked to us the whole trip pointing out different features and telling us stories. The water will definitely spray you in the back of the boat. I rather get wet versus banged around in the front. We were able to stand and sit in the back as we wanted. On our trip the weather didn't allow for access to the largest cave due to the roughness of the seas, but the trip was spectacular anyways. We went into plenty of caves and saw puffins and seals. The boat is powerful, and the captain is a real captain. Not just a tour guide. He mastered the waves with skill. I loved the rock music played while driving through the sea. It made it really fun like we were...
Read moreThis was, by far, the best boat tour I've EVER been on anywhere in the world. They've got these incredible suits that keep you warm & dry, the views are indescribable, and there are so many opportunities to take photos of the cliffs and in the caves. The back of the boat is more stable in terms of waves AND gives you an opportunity to chat with some of the nicest guys you could imagine. Once you slow down, totally safe to keep your phone out for photo opps, and the music adds for the two caves and FAST ride back were chef's kiss 💋. Can't recommend enough and worth...

It was a really good way to experience the beauty of the Faroe Islands. 100%...
